Thanks DallasBiff.
The movement [is] fueled by social media and spearheaded by two prominent British comedians... Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans, are currently on a tongue-in-cheek "40 Dates, 40 Nights" tour around the U.S. and Australia to drum up donations and help launch new Sunday Assemblies. They hope to raise more than $800,000 that will help atheists launch their pop-up congregations around the world. So far, they have raised about $50,000.

“And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Revelation 9:6

I believe this verse was written for those who expect and desire for this world to be all there is, a life of no accountability and the willful resentment even for the consideration of it, then blissful nothingness,

And when they “shall see these things begin to come to pass” as we’re told in Mark 13:29. The destruction and judgement on the Earth at the time of End, the last days, coming precisely as Jesus said, then instead of lifting their heads and looking up, and without having a deeper knowledge of why these days have come, they’ll be troubled but without understanding to find their way,

They’ve exchanged the truth for (the) lie, instead relying on their own supposed worldly enlightenment, riding on their natural experience without the spirit to illuminate, but prophecy fulfilled is available even to the spiritually blind as a witness, its not to late

They desire to die, but something in them will understand (maybe even for the first time) that they cannot, they will be accountable to a just God, and they can still be saved, this is the conflict

As a protestant I share the Catholic view of the end times. Christ reigns now, and when He comes back, it's over.

History is replete with the filling of that proverbial vacuum, usually with something remarkably man-shaped.

It reminds me of an old Soviet joke:

An old babushka is waiting in the rain for a bus. Bus after bus stops but all are too crowded for her to squeeze in.

Finally a bus with enough room happens along.

As she boards, she says to the drive, "Oh, thank God I was able to get on!"

The driver says to her, "Woman, you must not say, 'Thank God.' That is forbidden speech."

Woman: "Oh, I'm so sorry. I am old and unsophisticated. Pray tell me, who should I thank instead of God?"

Driver: "You must say, 'Thank Stalin!'"

Woman: "Oh, thank you so much. Tell me this, though: If, perish the thought, Stalin should die, then who am I to thank?"

Driver: "THEN you can say, 'Thank God!'"

“The absurdity of it is astounding.”

I guess atheists need some structure on Sunday mornings as well...

Do Republicans ever credit God’s word with any of their platform positions?

God's word, no. But, I'm pretty sure the GOP platform at least mentions him, similar to the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. At least, it did back when I was active in the process.

So, I downloaded the PDF and started searching.

The words "creator" and "created" are never used in the divine sense.

The Preamble says, "... our rights come from God" and, "May God continue to shed his grace on the United States of America."

Also mentioned a number of times are "God-given" talents, rights and resources.
