I must assume that Sen. Ron Calderon is a Donkey — his party affiliation is not mentioned. Looks like there will be another crook in the Dept. of Correction's orange jumpsuit. He's not sunburned Amish, so that's different. But, this is Mexifornia.

democrat because the first sentence of the story did NOT read as follows:
