State Sen. Ron Calderon accepted about $88,000 in bribes from an undercover FBI agent posing as a film studio owner and a Southern California hospital executive during a wide-ranging probe into his conduct as a legislator, according to a 124-page affidavit published online Wednesday by cable news network Al Jazeera America.

No charges have been filed against Calderon, a Democrat from Montebello. His attorney, Mark Geragos, did not return calls Wednesday.

The federal affidavit, filed with the court under seal as the FBI sought a search warrant for Calderon’s office, alleges that he worked with interest groups in a pay-to-play fashion, accepting money in exchange for promises to carry or amend legislation to their benefit.

Welcome to Mexifornia. Down in Mexico you have to pay the "mordida" the bite to the government officials to get anything done. Now we have that wonderful custom here.

Oh, jeepers. Where you have government, you have corruption. You want to blame Mexico for it? LOL

It looks like Ron needs to lose some weight. A diet of prison food will fix that.

Read the background articles. This is a real RATS nest of corruption extending to DC and the stimulus.

I must assume that Sen. Ron Calderon is a Donkey — his party affiliation is not mentioned. Looks like there will be another crook in the Dept. of Correction's orange jumpsuit. He's not sunburned Amish, so that's different. But, this is Mexifornia.

Oops. I completely read over he’s a Donkey. Criminality confirmed. Donkeys wear felony convictions like a badge of honor. See ex-Washington, DC Mayor Marion Barry. he’s now on the City Council.

The article mentioned it...

"No charges have been filed against Calderon, a Democrat from Montebello."

I immediately knew this guy was a democrat because the first sentence of the story did NOT read as follows:

"REPUBLICAN State REPUBLICAN Senator, REPUBLICAN Ron Calderon, REPUBLICAN, accepted about $88,000 in bribes from an undercover FBI agent posing as a film studio owner and a Southern California hospital executive during a wide-ranging probe into the REPUBLICAN'S conduct as a REPUBLICAN legislator..."

>> “Where you have government, you have corruption.” <<

.
Especially in California.

The California legislature is a RICO organization set up to launder political contributions from unions at the expense of the tax payers.

Amazing how many accept so much corruption, altho the San Jose ex-council member now indicted shirakawa and Ron Calderon rekindle your faith that prosecutors and attorney generals will have fish to fry... Most of them small, but hey

Norm, I don’t know about you, but I’ve lost my ability to be amazed over the past ten years or so.

LOL. I just read an article about Calderon on CNS.com and they didn’t have even ONE mention of his party affiliation. I had to google Calderon to confirm his Democratic affiliation.
