Obama Takes Friendly Fire [Dem uses F word]
National Journal ^ | October 28, 2013 | Ron Fournier

Posted on 10/28/2013 8:11:35 AM PDT by don-o

Incoming from Democrats:

"Dem Party is F****d." That was the subject line of an email sent to me Sunday by a senior Democratic consultant with strong ties to the White House and Capitol Hill. The body of the email contained a link to this Los Angeles Times story about Obamacare "sticker shock:"

"These middle-class consumers are staring at hefty increases on their insurance bills as the overhaul remakes the healthcare market. Their rates are rising in large part to help offset the higher costs of covering sicker, poorer people who have been shut out of the system for years."

"Although recent criticism of the healthcare law has focused on website glitches and early enrollment snags, experts say sharp price increases for individual policies have the greatest potential to erode public support for President Obama's signature legislation."

In his story, reporter Chad Terhune also quoted a letter sent to a California insurance company executive. "I was all for Obamacare," wrote a young woman complaining about a 50 percent rate hike related to the health care law, "until I found out I was paying for it."

snip

The Democratic consultant said none of this is news to him, but he wonders why Obama wasn't honest with Americans. He predicted surprise and outrage over higher costs and lesser coverage. "We will own this problem forever," the Democrat wrote.

I’d feel a lot better if today’s Republican Party was included too.

The tipping point was likely allowing the ACA to be called “Constitutional”.

Consider what the libs would be correctly screaming about today if the ACA had the Supreme Court declarded it "Unconstitutional."

The ACA, as bad as it's proving to be, was in fact passed by Democrat majorities in both houses of Congress and signed by a Democratic US President ... as required in the Constitution.

Nope. That's bad enough, to be sure, but what will tip the canoe is that you can't opt out. You will be fined. The IRS will come after you.

That's the drum we need to start pounding. It's MANDATORY, kiddies. You've just been drafted. Have a nice day.

Talked to an old timer democrat the other day. Stated that in his opinion the root of our problems was taking prayer out of the schools. He has given up on America as have many here.

Infinitely sad, for these things need not have been.

Not to worry. The ‘main stream’ GOP will ensure the democraps are never labeled with this failure.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

I am a hopeless cynic and pessimist.Marx taught that in order for the revolution to succeed, the proletariat had to have control of the means of production. This has morphed today into gaining control of the means of propaganda, which the lefties have a 100%,unassailable,permanent stranglehold on ,due to their control of popular culture.A conservative can explain that 2+2=4 all day long but if Katy Perry says no it doesn't than all libs will die before accepting the truth. What I mean by this discursive rant is that that Obozo could put a gun to head of the average lib and tell them that the GOP is killing them. They will respond “Yes Master” and their ghost will return and vote Dem.The cataclysmic fiasco that is Obozocare will never cost the libs one vote IMHO.

And as an aside, how difficult would it be to deny someone healthcare if they did not vote the right way, or expressed an opinion the government did not like? Not possible, I disagree, it is not only possible but likely.

All it take is one "rogue employee".

They are going to be required to report premiums on employee W-2’s. Now what could that possibly mean? Can you say taxable income?

The administration has been open about taxing health insurance benefits as salary. Not sure of the timeline, but I think it gets reported in 2014 and taxed starting in 2015.

Try even mentioning this to anyone who is relying on employer paid insurance. Blank stares abound.

Post of the day! With RINOs like McCain within them and their bashing of Cruz and Lee, the majority of us wouldn't trust them any further than we could throw them.

If the Democrats’ upper-middle-class educated urban liberal base deserts them, who will they have left?

Millions of pissed off former supporters.

"We will own this problem forever," the Democrat wrote

THIS is what I've been waiting to hear. And which single individual will be associated with trying his hardest to fight this problem?

Ted Cruz, of course. And his 21-hour speech that the RINOs considered 'bad strategy'

As long as we are on a truth kick about what Obamacare is doing, let’s spread the truth around. Stop telling the lie about poorer people who were shut out of the system. They were on medicaid, or had their bills paid by indigent funds, but they weren’t refused service, and often had better access to medical care than the privately insured working class who pay high deductibles and get no dental. And now that we’ve started this fascist, redistribution mandate, what are those same people getting? ...Well yes Obamaphiles, they are getting Medicaid. That is why your premiums have doubled, along with your deductibles.
