“...and that code is “riddled with security holes” that could result one of “the biggest breaches in American history[.]”

And they knew it from the beginning. It was never supposed to fly. It was supposed to fail, failure blamed on the Repubs., and an executive order issued to nationalize the health care system. If it doesn’t fail on time or according to plan, all the customer information will be “unexpectedly” stolen from the system by worldwide hackers causing major ID theft and fraud.

Which is why we’re selling more identity theft plans than ever.

At close to a trillion dollars when the whole cost it totaled up, the “crony capitalist campaign donors” were probably paid handsomely by the LINE of code generated. Built in was a MASSIVE continuing maintenance profit center.

The security problems are reason enough to avoid the site. Paying the IRS penalty (or tax) and avoiding the potential identity theft seems like a reasonable alternative.

Well, the good news is; the enrollees are very likely RAT Obamaphiliacs.

Sounds like there was an attempt to put in back doors for people to gain access. NSA anyone?

It’s as if they used “the brown bag method” <—quilters know...to choose what codes to use where, no knowledge at all as to what would actually function.

I work in IT and I find that 500 million lines of code factoid to be hard to believe.

I absolutely agree. I wrote a large project by myself by hand. A multithreaded digital communication program of sorts which contains an entire DSP processing engine under the hood, various transforms, filters, dozens of protocols, some NASA linear codes and related encoders/decoders all hand written from scratch, user preferences, configuration menus, and a full featured gui to make it look nice and hide the underlying complexity. It took three years to write and I still debug and improve it, and it weighs in at just under 28,000 lines of C. 500 million lines of code to deploy an online shopping experience for insurance policies?... yeah right.

500 million lines? That’s not unwieldy - that’s unthinkable. There is nothing on this earth that should take 500 million lines of code to implement.

I totally agree. Todays coders are rather ineffient but it could be a tenth of that. And all the problems are not the web site but the crummy systems it has to access for the data.

The correct number, if I recall correctly, is 5 million lines of code.

Someone was paying coders a dollar a line!
Source: 500 million dollars divided by 500 million lines of code.

Yes, and "modern" tools are usually a step backwards in this regard. There is no way that even a company as large as IBM, with all of its employees typing furiously, could produce a system with 500 million hand written lines of code. "Modern" tools, especially for web coding, are code volcanoes, spewing code out with no intelligence to reuse it. People don't write WSDLs anymore, they just input some values in a tool, and it spits a WSDL out. But even web technologies, which I still maintain moved IT backwards twenty years in technology, there are ways to reuse code. There are Cascading style sheets, there are master pages in .NET, etc. It doesn't have to be generated completely fresh for each web page.

Obamacare was never meant to be implemented. It was created for many reasons, but not to provide healthcare coverage. This was clear when pelosi made her comment about having to pass it to see what was in it; it really didn’t matter, could’ve been a Betty Crocker cookbook. It was never meant to be read.

It served a lot of purposes:

1. The best table-pounding, electioneering issue in a century. Got the nation’s biggest big-government candidate elected for two terms, and stripped the opposition of any bragging rights for another century.

2. It is redistributing wealth without even being available, now isn’t that something?

3. It is destroying hospitals and doctors without being the dreaded single-payer program, and again without providing direct coverage to even a single new recipient.

4. It created a lot of new billionaire campaign contributors in the healthcare and medical device and software industries, all of whom are indebted to the democrats.

5. It funneled money to Big Business and to defense contractors and government consultants, just in time for the 2014 election fundraising cycle.

6. It allowed the government to make democratic contributors - unions and big business beholding to it by throwing a lifeline of exemptions against enforcement.

7. It is forever a threat to be used against those who stand in the way of big government’s agenda, so it will be forever delayed and always fluid.

It will never be implemented, ever. It has served its purpose and completed its mission.

I am an Certified Exchange Agent, but have not sold or even tried to sell any Obamacare.

In training, they told us that the Obamacare website would instantly communicate with the IRS, ICE, Social Security, Credit Reporting agencies for identity verification, etc.

I KNEW it was BS at the time. I recently went to the IRS with my mother to try and figure out what happened to her tax refund, and it was obvious that the lady at the IRS who helped us, was FRUSTRATED with the delays in her computer access and it took 45 minutes to get an answer, once we were in her office.

Saw my sister-in-law this weekend. She is doing some software for a healthcare company, and she says has to use data from the obamacare site. She says she didn’t get test data until the Friday before it started. She gets data saying people have signed up for it multiple times, and then they try to cancel it, and they do that several times, and you can’t tell whomis cancelng the policy.

She hates it!
