Brian Cates is having quite an afternoon on Twitter

Brian Cates is having quite an afternoon on Twitter Brian Cates @drawandstrike is having a great chat with himself re: Obamacare today, I like it so much I’m copying it in, tweet by tweet for your pleasure.

Just a thought: Back in 2009 when he was incessantly repeating his ‘Keep your plan/Dr.!’ lie, who was Obama really lying to? R’s or D’s?

Was Obama lying to REPUBLICANS with this ‘Keep Your Plan!’ lie? To successfully lie to somebody, you have to have credibility with them.

Tell me, how many Republicans/Conservatives trusted Obama back in 2009 as he did this national ‘Keep Your Plan!’ tour?

Think back to the months leading up to the passage of the Affordable Care Act. Wasn’t it ALREADY known NO R’s in Congress voting for it?

Somebody told me the other day Obama was lying to ‘everybody’ with his ‘keep your plan’ lie. Yell yeah, he SAID it to entire country. True.

But the ‘Keep Your Plan!’ lie had a specific target. He was seeking to persuade a very particular group nothing would happen to them

Didn’t it take MONTHS of arm twisting, bribery & outright threats to get enough DEMOCRATIC legislators to agree with leadership to pass it?

WHY did it take months of threats and bribery for the Dem leadership to get enough DEMOCRATIC lawmakers to vote to pass the ACA? Any1 know?

OK pop quiz answers! the 1st ? was: 1) Who was Obama’s target for his ‘Keep Your Plan’ lie.

And the answer is: Democrats & left-leaning independents who were happy with their insurance plans & doctors.

That brings up ? #2: 2) WHY did Obama NEED to lie to a large chunk of his OWN base?

Answer: to get them to STOP contacting their Dem. lawmakers and lobbying against his ACA bill.

Remember: the big hurdle in 2009 to passage of the ACA was *NOT* that Republicans wouldn’t vote for it.

The HUGE problem that Obama & Dem leadership was struggling with in passage of ACA was they getting enough DEMOCRATIC votes to pass it.

And why do you suppose they were having such a godawful time getting enough DEMOCRATIC Congresspersons to vote for their reform bill?

Who could POSSIBLY have been putting pressure on Dem. lawmakers on Capitol Hill to not vote for ObamaCare back in 2009?

You know what i was telling myself back in 2009 as I watched what Obama was doing? “Somebody pinch me. i can’t believe this is happening.”

“I’m watching a sitting President going around the country repeatedly telling bold-faced lies to what is the BIGGEST chunk of his OWN BASE.”

Now, I thought Obama would lose in 2012. I didn’t think he’d still be in office in late 2013, early 2014 when O-Care got rolled out.

But I *DID* have a thought back in 2010. “What if Obama WINS in 2012, still in office when largest part of his base realizes the truth?”

He PROMISED Dem. middle income families they’d get to keep those plans, those Dr.s, they wouldn’t lose $1,000′s of $ in higher premiums

Now this huge chunk of the Dem base is waking up to the truth. They’ve lost their plans, their Dr.’s, thousands of their families income

And the leaders who scammed them back in 2009 fully expect these people to schlep to the polls in 2014 & vote for them again.

It’s fine to support nice-sounding ‘compassionate’ progressive policy when the bastards selling it convince you YOU’RE not paying for it.

“Oh hey, nothing’s gonna happen to you. You & your family are perfectly safe! Honest! Those OTHER folks will get hit by this, not you!”

For the first time EVER to get what they want, Dem leadership deliberately targeted their own base, & lied to them to set them up for it

Dem’s who trusted these guys back in 2009 who have now lost plans, Dr.’s & will lose thousands of family income know they were suckers.

It’s one thing to snort and chuckle when you think your party leaders are fooling somebody else & fleecing them

It’s quite an animal of a DIFFERENT stripe to wake up and find your own party leaders have slapped you around like a redheaded stepchild.

Turnout wins elections. Dems won in 2006, 2008 & 2012 because they had the high enthusiasm in their turnout & we didn’t. Only in 2010.

What do you think that biggest chunk of the Dem base is gonna do in 2014? Rush to the polls to reward these leaders who just robbed them

Now, Tea Party & Conservatives, we’re not gonna win in 2014 by default. We have to get people enthusiastic & out to the voting booths.

But I don’t think many people realize just how BADLY the Dem party wounded itself over passage of the ACA.

They managed to make 2012 about which candidate ‘cared’ more about the American people. Not the economy, not jobs, not ObamaCare.

They’ll try the same tactic in 2014. The one subject Dem leadership does NOT want 2014 midterms to be about is OBAMACARE.

If WE can MAKE the 2014 election about ObamaCare, there will be a distinct lack of enthusiasm for violated Dem families to get out & vote.

We have an opportunity here to seize. When it comes to this VERY LARGE segment of now pissed of Dem families, don’t drive them away.

Tell them you know EXACTLY how they feel. Used. Violated. WE FEEL THEIR PAIN. We want to HELP THEM. We tried to SAVE them from this.

We will help them UNDO this HUGE INJUSTICE that has been visited upon them by their own leadership.

Now, with the present GOP leadership we got, yes they could TOTALLY find a way to screw up this opportunity. It’s possible.

So we need to do this as a GRASSROOTS thing. Reach out to your Dem. neighbors that have lost their plans & Dr.s. Don’t mock’em, help’em!

“Hey man, so Obama lied to you? And you voted for him twice, eh? Now you got no plan, no Dr., looking at $1,000′s of $ out of pocket?’

“Let’s work TOGETHER to fix this. We don’t have to just take this. We can send a message to Washington. A bi-partisan message.”

We can spend the next year laughing at these people and calling them morons and suckers. OR we can seize an opportunity.

Even if many of these now angry Dem’s in the party’s base won’t vote R, we can make sure in ’14 & ’16 they send a message to their leaders.

And that’s by encouraging them not to vote at all. “Why would you REWARD the guys who just rick-rolled you?

“Well send them a message then! Tell them they have to EARN your vote after what they just did to you and your loved ones!”

“Send that message to Dem leadership up there in DC! NOBODY MESSES WITH MY FAMILY, MAN! NOBODY!!!!”

And - surprise, surprise - he wants you to foot the bill for 30 million illegals, too!

“And the leaders who scammed them back in 2009 fully expect these people to schlep to the polls in 2014 & vote for them again.”

Because they will. Blacks have been held down for decades under the Democrats and they still overwhelmingly vote for them. Lefties get beat down by their own party all the time and they either shift the blame to the right or suck it up and convince themselves that things are actually getting better.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard.

Considering the 30 million get to bring in their families, the number will be closer to 65-75 million.

They also want to allow an additional 33 million immigrants to come into the country over the next 10 years, so we're getting up around 100 million you, me, and everyone else gets to pay for.

30 million is just a fart in a hurricane.

He's right. At election time 2014, the debt ceiling battles will be long forgotten. But the debacle of Obamacare won't be.

We own the winning issue. All we need to do is hammer it home 24/7.

So why am I still a bit nervous...?

I don’t think Obama supporters really care how disastrous it is. Most of them are idiots that will blame the insurance companies, the tea party, or republicans anyway. They will suffer from it, but don’t have enough mental capacity to understand Obama caused it. When they are waiting forever to get an MRI or test, they’ll blame the doctor or racism.

Could it be because you know how the Republican Party operates?

Ask them: "Uh, why do you think it's called ObamaCare?"

This would be fantastic if the Republican party weren’t a collection of traitorous scumbags. . .with a handful of decent conservatives thrown in of course.

Because you misguidedly put your hope in Republicans.

Okay, I will bite.

Because George Bush blamed it on Obama.

Do I get a cookie for that?

Maybe because you suspect, as I do, that the ruling class republicans (aka GOPe, "incumbents," "establishment," rino's, etc) will collude with Obama to fix the mess and work to "make healthcare succeed." What better way to achieve their goal of deflating and stamping out the meddlesome Conservatives.
