The pope is selling his hog.
The National Catholic Register reports that Pope Francis is selling his Harley-Davidson motorcycle to raise money to help the homeless in Rome.
“It is a precious gift that has once again made us happy in feeling the closeness of our bishop to the poor of the Church of Rome,” Monsignor Enrico Feroci, director of Caritas Rome, said. “We are deeply grateful to Pope Francis for this.”
According to The Associated Press, Harley gave Francis two classic white Harleys for the Vatican police force in June when the manufacturer and tens of thousands of Harley owners celebrated the company’s 110th anniversary in Rome.
The pope even blessed hundreds of Harley owners during Mass.
The money from the Harley will go to a hostel and a soup kitchen.

I guess a little from column a and a little from column b.
That’s nice, but wouldn’t it be better to encourage the govt. to make the environment so that business could thrive and create jobs so the poor could be employed and support themselves?

Your aunt the nun may be a Communist, but this has nothing to do with Communism. It’s, in fact, a celebration of what you can do with private property.

Popes are given many interesting things, it was inevitable that these would go to charity.
