NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Two teenage girls suspected of shoplifting were stopped as they were leaving the Victoria’s Secret store in Herald Square, and a security guard checking their bags found what appeared to be a dead baby, police said Thursday.
The girls, both 17, were stopped by a store security guard. It was then that one of the girls admitted she had “a baby in the bag,” CBS 2 reported.
The guard called police. The girl later told police that she had given birth Wednesday and did not know what to do with the fetus, which had matured only five to six months, police said. The girl, who is from Brooklyn, was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
The teens have been identified as Tiana Rodriguez, of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and Francis Estevez, of Glendale, Queens. Rodriguez was the one carrying the bag with the child inside, police said.
They have both been charged with petit larceny. More charges could follow.
The Medical Examiner’s Office was performing an autopsy on the baby, which was believed to be a boy, to determine whether the child was born dead or alive and the cause of death. The results of the autopsy are expected Friday.

Did the girl give birth in the dressing room and then could not find a way to take it out of the store without being seen? I suspect that could be what happened and the teenager was probably stupid and scared and asked her friend to help her.

I cannot think of an innocent scenario that would fit these circumstances. It is difficult not to judge. Who, what when, where, how and why only adds up to something pitiful and sinister.
I think it was more instinct than horror. She is attached to her child in one way or another. Without any way of dealing with the birth and death, she did the only thing that felt right which was to keep her child with her.
This is what comes of a morally ignorant population. She had no moral framework to impose on this event but her natural instinct came out in a seemingly bizarre way.
She is pitiable because her family, friends, and culture made her so ignorant.

Your scenario is possible, but delivering a 4-5 mo. old fetus in a dressing room would leave a lot of post-birth evidence. And it would hurt, so you’d expect employees and other customers to hear something.

Ya, I was vulgar in thinking the same thing. It’s obvious what this young girl is doing, to have given birth so young. I thought that she was there to dress up for her boyfriend. And repeat the mistake.

When the culture bombards them 24/7 with the message that the entity growing inside is nothing but an inconvenience that can be hacked up and thrown into the garbage, this is what we can expect these girls to do.
What is galling is the enabling liberals interviewed on the street that called it “sick and disgusting”. What’s sick and disgusting is their double standard.
