Possibly....I won’t discount your view. I only know that this man is insane - two personalities: one a madman, the other an appeasing pussy.

I read someone’s comment, I forget where, but McCain said he hoped the republicans had learned their lesson and the comment made the point that statement sounded like something McCain had gotten from the commies that tortured him “Did you learn your lesson”.

When McCain learned his lesson, they stopped torturing him.

Regardless of where, why and how he has been ‘conditioned’, he is conservatism’s greatest enemy in my opinion. There is nothing redeeming about this insane madman.

I’m wondering if McCain was making a comment about how smart he is or is the word intelligence being used like it’s used with “CIA intelligence” meaning he has no proof of McCain supporting al Qaeda.

Maybe the better response to McCain would be to treat it as the latter and show the picture of him standing with al Qaeda and simply say “Yes John we do have the intelligence, and here’s the picture to prove it.”

Agreed. She should’ve been the top of that ticket. Not that total screw up.

You are correct in the strict sense but it was in the sequester planning with conservatives earlier this year and the immigration and the just held defund/debt strategy agreement that Boehner ‘promised’ to conservatives that he would adhere to the Hastert Rule. I am not sure if that was promised for VAWA, tax deal, Sandy relief and budget. In those dealings I do not remember conservatives pinning Boehner down to following the Hastert Rule.

But I do remember Michele Bachmann and other tea party conservatives confronting Boehner over immigration and extracting his promise to respect the Hastert Rule or else face possible removal as Speaker. I also remember just recently conservatives reporting that Boehner had promised to follow the Hastert Rule on the defund and debt ceiling bills.

So when I said ‘violated’ the Hastert Rule I meant in the context of his promise to conservatives, not for other issues for which conservatives were not as united.

The Hastert Rule is not law; it is a gentlemen’s agreement like a memorandum of understanding among members of the republican caucus for how legislation will be introduced in the House or dealt with when receiving from outside the House.

For certain issues deemed not critical to party or country survival such as VAWA or Sandy Relief, the Hastert Rule seems irrelevant and at the time Boehner ignored as you said the Hastert Rule it was probably with the understanding that republicans did not need that level of control.

But a lot has happened since January of this year. The IRS targeting Tea Party non-profits, the Benghazi coverup, the NSA monitoring revelation, the alterior motives of the current immigration reform legislation, the threat by Reid to go nuclear, the dictatorial behavior of Obama, and so many others, all have created a panicked atmosphere and deep mistrust of this President. Now the Hastert Rule seems important and the promises to observe and respect it are non-negotiable.

So it’s different now. Boehner has shown his hand and his determination to betray his fellow party members.

Now those who felt previously that an effort to oust Boehner was premature are now of the mind that he must go, because that is what their constituents think.

So I don’t agree that members will not challenge Boehner because life is too cozy just the way things are. I believe at this very moment they are getting angry calls from constituents demanding that something be done about Boehner. I know for a fact from accounts of relatives in Ohio that they think Boehner is a problem and now needs to be removed.

“Sometimes… comments like that are made out of malice, but if someone has no intelligence I don’t view it as being a malicious statement,” McCain said. “You know, you can’t respond to that kind of thing.”

***A request for comment from Gohmert’s office was not immediately returned.***

Sounds as if they might be taking McCain’s advice and not responding to the blustering fool.

Did Bohner promise to not end shutdown without a GOP house majority??

I am not aware of that at all. In fact I was predicting here for months that he would do exactly what he did.

It was leaked a week or go or so that he told his GOP members behind closed doors that he would extend the debt limit with or without them, so he wouldn't get blamed (all the blame),

So those house republicans rejected that alternative Tuesday night knowing what he would do. Which was just pass the Senate bill. In fact Tuesday night many were on TV admitting that, Meygn Kelly told Lou Gomert that that was Bohners response to killing that bill

the mice will hidein their holes and tell their district voters they covered them. They will leave Bohner be.

doesnt matter. Until someone points a gun at one of their heads and tells them they must personally run against him, its just the Kabuki dance. They are just playing a game.
"Thank you for your comments. I will be sure he gets them"

It was an insult. He should be marginalized by leadership to limit the damage he can do in the future.

JD Hayworth tried to out him in the primary. I voted for JD. the Repub establishment was no help and the local, crappy, in the tank for illegals, Gannett newspaper the AZ Republic and all the local media shilled for McCain. JD made a valiant attempt, but it put him into major debt and he was forced by a Rino, Grant Woods another Illegal Immigrant shill, to give up his talk show on KFYI during the year before the election (there abouts). So mac gets local media free time attacking JD. (all that media shill time, like what Barry gets, is free advertising).

McCain shill Grant Woods filed an FEC complaint before JD even announced his candidacy. Mac got a lot of “in-kind” donations by the shill media. Guess Grant didn’t care about that.

McShame uses the same MO as Cornpone (RINO-TX).

JD's a good guy. I supported him.

JD is. I used to drive around my old van with my kids in it, with his sign in the window, when he ran for Rep and won. He wasn’t in my district, but I donated and every day when my now ex husband came home, he take down the sign off my old van (he didn’t like JD). Next morning before taking the kids to school, back up went my sign.

He does great impressions. don’t know if you heard him do charlie rangel. Priceless.
