On the brink of a national default, the leaders of the Senate struck a deal Wednesday to reopen the federal government and extend its power to borrow money. The House appeared ready to go along and end, at least for now, the crisis in Washington.
Sen. Harry Reid, the Democratic leader, said on the Senate floor at midday that his party and Republicans had found their way to a compromise to provide our economy with the stability it desperately needs and avert financial disaster.

Boner is an idiot. they should not cave. don’t raise the debt limit and keep the government shut down.
the media is lying : not raising the debt limit will not cause default
but the news media keeps repeating that lie. there was never a chance for default. Obama and the media lied lied and lied again

CBS admitted it last night. It would have come down to either paying entitlements or paying foreign bond holders. It will eventually come to that anyway.

From the article that you posted the excerpt from:
"The compromise would fund the federal government through Jan. 15 and extend the borrowing power, known as the debt ceiling, through Feb. 7."

Did Sen. McConnell forget his dentures today?
I guess he wanted to give the Democrats a softer BJ.
(I know, not a nice thing to say. But what else could be said considering the Republican cave-in today?)

“the media is lying : not raising the debt limit will not cause default”
But the vast majority of the Sheeple believe what that media tells them, and what the Tweets say.
Obama has threatened to not pay Welfare in November. Like or not, that is a VERY potent threat.
