The Fisher House Foundation should do America and its veterans a favor and say it will stop paying the benefits in 12 hours if Obama does not sign the legislation that the House AND THE SENATE have now passed to insure funding.

Obama and his league of anti-Americans monsters must be held accountable for its actions AND ITS INACTION. We must all STOP enabling these tyrants.

Lets see if the American people start to notice, or the media.

obama won't pay death benefits to soldiers killed in the line of duty.

obama and reid don't think helping children with cancer is worth an exception to the shutdown.

obama and reid don't want veterans to be able to go to an open air memorial.

obama and reid don't want Congress to be subject to the law they imposed on the public.

obama and reid don't want an individual mandate delayed even though their business supporters and unions have been exempted.

And it is the Pubs that are heartless "hostage takers" holding a "gun to our heads". Someday people will see the truth.

GOD BLESS Sens Cruz aand Lee.

GOD BLESS the Tea Party Pubs in the House and Speaker Bohner for sticking with them.

Has the Senate taken up the measure? Until they vote, nothing can go to Obama and my understanding is that Reid is refusing to take up any measure, knowing that the Senate could amend it to end the without a full Republican capitulation. Reid and Obama, of course, do not want to end the shutdown.

The media like to make a big deal out of the president’s signature on bills.
Presidents like to turn such events into big photo-ops like it really means something.

The truth is, the president’s signature is not even required.

THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION
Article I. Section 7.
Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate,
shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States;
If he approve he shall sign it,
but if not he shall return it, with his Objections...
If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted)
after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law,
in like Manner as if he had signed it...

“Overide”???
LOL!
The bill to pay benefits is in the Senate now!

Haryy Reid won’t allow it to be voted on, it’s been tabled without a recorded vote.
Obama is doing this so Harry doesn’t have to let it be voted on.

Yeah, you’d think the media might inform us a little...

I'm not sure this is shariaa compliant.

These payments are technically a zakat or blood money payment for the death of the Janissaries of the house of saud.

Unless the Republicans run an ACTIVE CHILD MOLESTER for office, I will find myself unable to vote for a Democrat ever again. Period. End of story. I wonder how many others are thinking this way - and not just the people who might read this site.

Well, they did pass it in the senate.

How much more brazen and outrageous can this get? How far will we let them push us? The piece from the Washington Examiner is a bit more credible than Poor Richards News.

Just about the time you think the outrage can’t get worse... it does:

Jay Carney says ‘we don’t need legislation’ to pay military death benefits

President Obama opposed passage of funding for veterans’ death benefits because the Fisher House Foundation has agreed to cover the costs, according to his spokesman.

“The legislation is not necessary,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters Thursday when asked about legislation approved by the House and Senate that would pay for those benefits. “Our view has been, this piecemeal funding is, again, a gimmick.”

Carney faulted Congress on Wednesday for not covering the death benefits in the Pay Our Military Act, though the Congressional Research Service rendered a legal opinion that the legislation did fund the program.

“[Obama] was not pleased to learn of this problem,” Carney said during the Wednesday briefing. “And he has directed the OMB and his lawyers to find a solution. And he expects to have one today.”

But the president opposes the legislative fix. “We don’t need legislation,” Carney said Thursday. “The president directed that this be resolved and it has been. What is preposterous is this notion that we should, piecemeal, fix all the consequences caused by shutdown.”

The Defense Department, under the current agreement, will reimburse the Fisher House after the government shutdown ends.

Read the article and comments and save your rage where it is needed. I know if feels good to do otherwise but the comments indicate that the legislation is not required and Fisher House will be repaid by government. Of course the comments may be wrong too but there is really a “target rich environment” when it comes to this POS.
