Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tex., had heard enough on Friday. Once again a fellow senator, this time Democrat Charles Schumer of New York, accused him on the chamber floor of wanting to shut down the federal government.

The freshman senator from Texas delivered a brisk defense.

I can imagine Ted makes Schumer absolutely nuts! Schumer has been in the Senate forever and here’s this young upstart rocking the boat and taking names!

I just love Ted Cruz!

I voted for him twice! Once in the primary, and once in the general. Best vote I have cast since my last vote for Reagan in 84’. I’ve been holding my nose ever since.

Cruz is a symbol of a generational shift in Congress, the children of Reagan. More than any other group, the young have been hurt by this five year depression. The fossils: Reid, McConnell, McCain, Pelosi, etc., need to go and be replaced by younger blood.

Reid and McCain are poster boys for self-serving senility. The fallout from recent events may cause their demise.

Out with the dead wood. They’ve stayed so long their principles have decayed.

“Schumer has been in the Senate forever...”

Not really. Ol’ Mephistopheles beat Al D’ Amato in 1998 so he’s about halfway through his third term. I guess it just seems that way because he jumps in front of every camera he sees. If you look closely you can actually see where he had his horns removed.

I’m aging fast, but I consider myself a child of Reagan. Jimmy Carter turned me into a Republican at age 13, one year into his term. Reagan made me begin my interest in political philosophy and conservatism.

You go Ted!

The Communists ran the neocons out of the Democrat party and the neocons took over the GOP, birthing a new generation of former Democrat RINO politicians personified by Trent Lott. These neocons ran like turkey’s once from a dedicated opposition within their own party. Us conservatives need to unite and run them out of OUR GOP!

Amen! Our federal government has been shut down for what - 94 hours or so. How in the world does it seem like my life has not changed. Keep the damned government shut down forever except for what our founders noted in the U.S. Constitution.

Schumer the demagogue and his fellow demagogues in the Demagogic Party *have* shut down the government on paper, while continuing to operate it -- apart from their thuggery regarding war memorials. Even their police state tactics are still in operation. Apropos of nothing, my hard drive was mysteriously running when I woke up for my over-50 early morning p-break.
