The delay isn't a complete cave. One year expires October 1, 2014, just a little more than a month before the next election.
Which is why O & crew probably won't buy it. But if they do you're right, we could start the fight months earlier and let them have the election hanging over their head by the October.
Correct. My belief is this would be even more of a problem for the Rats if it were happening exactly one year from now. I think this is a good idea, I hope the Rats fall for it.
I think it could help us get some conservatives in both houses as well. The Republican’s feet will be held to the fire just before and election, as well as the Democrats. A lot can happen in a year, but I think this part of the bill is fairly positive.
If TEA Party Republicans can take the House and Senate in 2014 we will be well on the path to long term victory. We need to win election after election for at least a generation. We also need to purge the comfortable old boys club of the likes of McCain and Graham. Too cuddly with the enemy for my taste.
There will likely be a shutdown, but now we've got Ted Cruz leading the charge. The House pubbies are reportedly thrilled with the strength of this stance, so they too will be loudly and widely shouting the despicable condition of Obiecare: the exemptions, the costs, the privacy issue, the unions, the exchanges, the delays, EVERYTHING about it is screwed up.
A one year delay makes it an election issue. We're gonna' kill the bastards, just like 2010, which is where we find the final answer.
Wrong. The delay will be the requirement to have insurance by January 1, 2015, after the next election cycle. The October 1st date is the opening of the exchanges. In other words, the democrats won't have to eat this monstrocity until the 2016 elections, when it will be too late to turn back. The majority of companies will have already abandoned provisions for provided health insurance to their employees, and the only "reasonable" fix will be single payer (socialized medicine). Nice going Republicans.
