That is a total lie. Graham voted FOR cloture, effectively giving the Democrats what they needed to remove the defunding portion of the CR. Any votes he made after that are totally beside the point. Y'all must think we constituents are a bunch of idiots. We aren't. But Graham is, trying to pull a sophomoric stunt like that. You have my solemn promise to redouble my efforts so that Mace, Cash or Bright takes Graham out in the runoff primary next June.
Lindsey should take lessons from Tim Scott, a true Conservative.

South Carolina State Senator Lee Bright issued the following statement:
“Once again, Sen. Lindsey Graham has ignored his constituents by helping the Democrat Senate Majority Leader pass a Continuing Resolution which includes full funding for Obamacare. Lindsey Graham has been in Washington for decades but he is still falling for the tricks of Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer.
“It is disheartening to see that, despite the heroic efforts of Senate conservatives to stop the implementation of Obamacare, Sen. Graham followed in lockstep with Senator John McCain, saying that because McCain and Mitt Romney lost the last two elections, Republicans should completely surrender to every demand President Obama makes. I disagree.
“Were I in the U.S. Senate instead of Graham, I would have done the exact opposite. I would have been down on the Senate floor doing everything in my power to block the implementation of Obamacare.
“After Senate conservatives like Ted Cruz courageously filibustered to stop this abomination, Lindsey Graham could not wait to vote in favor of ‘cloture’, which is a Senate procedural move to go directly to a vote without delay.
“I am proud of Senator Tim Scott, who recently took Jim DeMint’s place in the U.S. Senate, who ignored Lindsey Graham’s advice and voted against Reid’s attempt to use procedure to fool the voters and fund Obamacare.”
“Graham’s vote Friday allows Senator Reid to take the House version of the Continuing Resolution and strip out the language that defunds Obamacare. As a result, when it comes back to the Senate, liberal Democrats will only need 51 votes to pass the bill and keep Obamacare fully funded.
“It is telling that Lindsey Graham’s office in Washington was refusing to even answer calls from irate constituents. Any South Carolina voter, who was not a lobbyist, was simply referred to a boilerplate recording assuring callers that Graham was doing what he thought best.”

That is exactly what I said in my post. The vote today in senate by republicans was CYA.
Because if debate does not end, time runs out and Obamacare does not get funded. That is why Cruz and company were trying to resist cloture of debate.

Anyone who voted for cloture voted to fund Obamacare. They really think we are stupid. We will show him how stupid we are the next time he has a town hall meeting anywhere near me. (I live in SC).
