Saying he does not expect to win the fight is only being realistic, saying he is not supporting Cruz and Lee in this fight is propaganda. I’ll bet dollars to donuts Paul votes with Cruz and Lee in the Senate. I’ll also bet he supports whatever tactics Cruz and Lee come up with.
That implies there was something to dig up.
The man whose father was maligned for decades by agents of the permawar industry, has to start his political career in the twilight of the nation, and is all but fighting this disaster on his lonesome versus the Demoncrat machine can’t repeal Obamacare.
Gee, whatta shocker.
And you lot are railing at him for not only not promising the moon and stars like every OTHER politician, but honestly stating “folks, there is not much chance I and the handful of other people can undo this whole mess.” That HAD to take balls of steel to come out and say to the libertarian/conservative public, who he must have known would go bananas.

President Obama wants to get as many Americans addicted to the subsidies because he knows that in modern times, no major entitlement has ever been implemented and then unwound. That’s why the administration announced that it won’t enforce eligibility requirements–essentially encouraging fraud and “liar loans”–because that way the most people possible will get addicted to the sugar.

While the ultimate goal is to repeal the law in its entirety, defunding is a crucial step so we can stop the law from being implemented before Americans get hooked on the subsidies.
Of course, the Senate is unlikely to pass the CR with the defunding provision in it, and, if they did, would Zero ever sign it?
If it comes down to a stalemate in which the House refuses to pass a CR that can be enacted into law, then we have the dreaded government shutdown. ObamaCare limps along on whatever mandatory spending is still authorized or can be scrounged up for it extra-legally. Obama blames the GOP for the shutdown, and the MSM carries his water.
My bet is there will be some sort of compromise in which implementation is postponed a year or so. Obama might well come around to such, if it can be spun in a reasonably face-saving fashion. After all, he has himself illegally delayed the employer mandate. He knows the bill is a train wreck. He may fear that Cruz is wrong in his assessment above of its addicting effect and that implementing it would in fact confirm to voters all the reasons they presently hate it and give the Senate to the GOP and strengthen the House GOP. Goodbye agenda! He may figure that delaying the train wreck will get him past 2014 in the best possible shape. After all, the sole reason it's finally being implemented only now is that the Donks were afraid to spring it before the 2012 cycle.
True. We'll have to see what happens. I hope you are correct but I'm skeptical.
