A young researcher whose opinions on Syria were cited by both Senator McCain and Secretary of State John Kerry in congressional testimony last week has been fired from the Institute for the Study of War for allegedly faking her academic credentials. The institute issued a statement on its website concerning the researcher, Elizabeth OBagy: The Institute for the Study of War has learned and confirmed that, contrary to her representations, Ms. Elizabeth OBagy does not in fact have a Ph.D. degree from Georgetown University. ISW has accordingly terminated Ms. OBagys employment, effective immediately. OBagy and her op-ed drew scrutiny last week when the Wall Street Journal failed to disclose OBagys ties to an advocacy group backing the Syrian opposition and lobbying the US government to intervene in Syria. The Journal was forced to post a clarification that in addition to her role at the Institute for the Study of War, Ms. OBagy is affiliated with the Syrian Emergency Task Force, a nonprofit operating as a 501(c)(3) pending IRS approval that subcontracts with the U.S. and British governments to provide aid to the Syrian opposition.

At the same time 2 million Americans are making a statement..in D.C. basically supporting Putins position regarding Islam in general.
Right now today the world can see Americans in general supporting truth though its in conflict with national interest.
I think
Obviously, in a communication to an employer, one could make the exact status clear without misleading, as in "I have completed the requirements for my PhD in X, [other than y], and expect formal award of the degree in [month, year].
I’d guess she’s a CIA operative whose cover has been blown
the intent was to immediately get into war... and those with the ‘evidence’ would’ve been forgotten
sloppy work all around
This only proves that people like McCain and Kerry seek out people whom they agree with to use as their sources.
The actual truth means little as long as they can quote some source.
This same ploy has made Al Gore a rich man. he seeks out people who agree with him about Global warming and quotes them as an undeniable source. The truth means nothing.
HA, it’s the big headline story on Drudge right now! HAHA!
Yeah, this is rather delicious, isn’t it? I’ve been laughing most of the day ruminating over this, and the administration’s comedy of errors along with their unraveling web of deceit we’ve had to endure over the Syria fiasco.
If he doesn't, can we fire him too?
Sealed, mostly.
