Robert Frosts poem Mending Wall describes two neighbors who meet every spring to walk the fence dividing their properties. After a hard winter, damage has to be assessed and repaired. Perhaps, after Miley Cyrus controversial and crass performance at the VMA awards, it is time to assess todays culture and seriously consider how to repair the damage to the nations girls and women. The objectification and exploitation of women as seen in all its crudity in Cyruss performance is a wake-up call for us all. Is that what women really want? Is that what any of us really want? But isnt that the inevitable result of our anything-goes, sex-and-drugs saturated culture?
Since the early 60s, our nation has been experiencing a harsh cultural winter. Howling winds of change insidious myths and outright falsehoods have undermined and torn apart the faith, values, and morality that have held together a diverse and multicultural people. Those myths those attacks those falsehoods by those who present themselves as champions of womens rights constitute a very real war on women.
It is a senseless war of promoting casual sex: spreading the myth that women dont need marriage, pushing a culture climate that objectifies and exploits our girls and implementing public policies that inevitably lead to women being the majority of those in poverty. That war against women has loosened and upended many of the foundation stones of Judeo-Christian principles. Primary among those huge boulders crashing into the culture are: casual sex, cohabitation, and the collapse of marriage.

I haven’t heard women saying that they want what Miley wants or wish they were her. I’ve heard women say they pity her, they were embarrassed or shocked, that they fear the young woman won’t last long. So why does the media then turn to ask women, so THIS is what you want? Like that was supposed to appeal to women more then men? Maybe someone could ask men if this is the kind of women they want?
Really, this is Hollywood and the music industry - those people don’t represent normal men or women, they never have. That’s why it’s called Hollyweird.
Good question.
Grandparents aren’t always contributors of morality to their grandkids. My father in law is a drunk and my dad is a staunch Obama democrat asshole. I prefer to keep my kids away from both.
Women slut it up for the players when they are young, then they complain when the stable man who wanted a pure wife isn't too keen on settling for the used up tramps when they hit their 30s and want another paycheck a husband to help raise HER child.
“They even took over the Catholic Church (Bella Dodd) at Vatican II.”
Do you tell that fairy tale at night to make yourself feel better?
The Catholic church still opposes contraception, abortion, gay marriage.

Wow. Preach it bro. We waited - so should they.
“They even took over the Catholic Church (Bella Dodd) at Vatican II.”
Didn’t happen.
If women don’t have the love and approval of a male figure (preferably their own father), they’re going to look for it elsewhere. Sad, but true.
A lot of attention is given to the problem of feral youth males and the havoc they cause, but not as much is given to the problem of young girls who do not have the love of an adult male.
I agree. That was my first thought...the look in her eye and that gigantic tongue flicking in and out like a snake.
One of the most disgusting performances I have ever seen. She got the attention she wanted and then some. She'll always be remembered for that and it wasn't even artistically good, plus her dancing stinks.
“See... your fence does not need mending.”
Nope. Fixed the front gate about two months ago :) Next big windstorm though, who knows?
Not the women I know. We move in different circles, it seems. I’d say both types exist. Until I see some data I am not going to assume that yours are predominant.
The pastor of our church cited research in secular sources indicating that things like porn addiction are changing dating/marriage in the US in drastic ways. THey were organizations like “Slate” (lefties). Basically, the idea was that the majority of men in the us find they watch increasing amounts of porn. As they do, they lose interest in all but the top 15-20 of women in the US, the rest of the women are ignored. (I’m thinking this is coming in at college age and increasing as the age groups cycle into college cause I saw this kind of report 15 years ago). So now the bar is raised to the very attractive. Women (included among them those who think acting male is liberation) increasingly find that they are completely ignored unless they provide sex, and then they are still largely ignored in terms of marriage. (The book Unhooked has a revealing analysis that bears this out.) As men find sex easily available, they no longer strive in terms of personal development (it used to be men had to adapt manners or show they could support a family) The articles call this “cleaning up” to become marketable marriage material. With that need gone, men are not attending college or competing for jobs (college men are 40% of the population now). So women offer more sex to find a mate and men are even less interested in ever marrying. Both sides are involved. But then, I don’t have a hatred for either sex, like some people. These women aren’t FORCING men to have sex with them. ;)

No kidding! She looks like she's had a cow's tongue transplant.... <8^)
