I’ll have to read it. Of course I’ve read Orwell’s more famous novels, and a few of his essays (”Morocco” is interesting).

He had a few up close and personal experiences with totalitarians that changed his life and his way of looking at the world.

“Testing” must be the PC term.

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.

[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]

From Israel's point of view there are no good sides in Syria.

This is a statement by Def Min Moshe Ya'alon on Israeli policy re Syria:

Yaalon Confirms: Assad Used Chemical Weapons

"The state of Israel does not intervene in the Syrian civil war,” he said. “We have the red lines we established, and we are living up to them:
we will not allow quality weapons to be transferred to Hezbollah and other terror elements.
We will not allow the transfer of chemical weapons,
and we will respond to any violation of our sovereignty.

"We argue that in the end, we must defend ourselves, by ourselves, and do so with responsibility and sound judgment. We do not expect foreign armies to do this for us,” he added.

Probably for some consistency. Just last week they opened up new talks with Hamas in Gaza who are basically the MB.

Did they? Any reference to this piece of startling news?

(PS: Abbas - who is part of the Kerry initiated peace/piece negotiations - represents PA/PLO, and though he is considered (by the international "community") to represent all "palestinian" arabs, his faction and Hamas are mortal enemies.)
