I still don’t see a GOP counter-proposal.
Just saying.
Why does there have to be one?
Counter proposal?
How about just a re-set to the way things were before Obama and his minions screwed up the world’s best healthcare.
A “counter proposal” is to return to a free market solution.
As bad as Obama-care gets as long as more people are covered under it than were without it the Dems will win the public opinion battle, esp if the GOP position is ‘things were great before O-care’ . Wait till the medicaid expansion.
Now if they (GOP) could effectively trot out victims of Obama care on camera and get them at town hall meetings and in front of congress telling horror stories then they would be fighting back.
To your point : I can see where a GOP POTUS nominee is going to have real problems against Hillary if he has to say that things were great in 2008 to get through his 2016 primary.
We don’t need a government run healthcare system, even one proposed by “Republicans”.
ObamaCare was based on RomneyCare, and Romney himself advised Obama way back when to do a national version. RomneyCare advisors were consulted about the thing.

White House consulted RomneyCare advisors to shape ObamaCare

We do not need a “counterproposal” from the dimwits. All we need is a bill that would allow hospitals to compete and offer their own health plans, to allow physician-owned hospitals and charity hospitals to expand and to be created.
We don’t need RomeybamaCare and we are better off without a “replacement”
