San Diego press spokesman Jan Caldwell told MailOnline that there department 'aware of the posts and are in contact with the family' but she said that they are not in a position to confirm or deny whether the person behind the account is really the kidnapping victim.
As the hours go on and she continues to answer questions with specific details related to the case, it becomes more and more likely that the individual is actually Anderson.
She has also been accepting followers on her Instagram account, where she has posted three photos since being freed by FBI agents who shot and killed DiMaggio.
Her first post on Monday afternoon showed her holding a scrap of paper with the words 'In the clouds, I'll meet you again' with a heart.

‘He tricked us,’ one post on her Ask.fm account said. She explained that DiMaggio told the Andersons to come over and ride go carts on his property. Once they arrived, he tied up her mother and brother and fled by car with Hannah.
‘I will never forgive myself for not trying harder to save them,’ another post read.
She reportedly wrote that DiMaggio had rigged the home with explosives so that the fatal fire that killed her mother, brother and dog did not start until after she and DiMaggio were well on their way to Idaho, where they were eventually spotted by horseback riders.
The post-kidnapping responses came mostly on Ask.fm, a social media site popular among teenagers where they pose questions to one another and answer back.
One user asked why she did not try to run.
‘He had a gun and threatened to kill me and anyone who tried to help,’ she wrote.
Thank you both very much for the information. I find it fascinating.
Yeah but you could probably get this response from 9 out of ten young people today.
Remember Elizabeth Smart? While in captivity she would walk on the public street and into stores with her abductor yet not say a word to anyone. I imagine they are terrorized into staying silent.
Good point. A person who is terrorized - especially a young teenaged girl - will often be very submissive due to paralyzing fear.
Actually I really really hope that she is NOT typical of 16 yr old girls. I read all the comments all the way back. Apparently she dates mostly black guys and does lap dances on party buses. Her language is also very salty for a 16 yr old.
>>>A 16 year old California girl.
Thats a despicable comment! You should be ashamed!<<<
As a one-time 16 year old California girl I’d call it an accurate statement. Shallow, vapid, self-absorbed...that’s I would describe myself at 16 and that was also typical of my circle of friends.
What’s despicable is that it’s true.
I don’t facebook. I am the only one in my family that doesn’t. It seems that in my age group (59) those who do use it as a means to keep in touch, share lives, reconnect etc
My youngest son is 22. He & his friends say if it is not on FB, it never happened. One example, it doesn’t matter doesn’t matter how long a couple has dated. Until they post it on facebook, they are NOT a couple.
It reminds me of Casey Anthony getting a tattoo to supposedly honor her dead baby. Something is not right with this girl, and it may have started long before she was kidnapped.
I’m sorry, and I hope I am wrong, but I have gotten weird vibes ever since I saw pics of her. Her smile seems off, even before the incident. My gut tells me something is and has been very wrong with her.
I heard on the news earlier that the account had been shut down and this girl wouldn’t be making any more posts. Evidently someone got wind of the controversy and pulled the plug.
The guy is dead how is he going to go free?
