Here, put yourself in the sheriff’s place. Let’s say you needed to learn that someone taking pictures while bearing arms isn’t the worst thing in the world, at the same time you would care for the responsibility that comes with knowing that a lot of Islamic terrorists have pulled stunts like this. How would you want someone to approach you?

The Golden Rule really does work wonders in mellowing out your approach to someone who needs to learn better.

Name one. Which terrorist attack involved involved photography and open carry.

Did Tim McVeigh saunter around the Murrah Federal Building while openly carrying a pistol on his hip? Did he or his confederates even photo it at all?

This is all security theater, when the real agenda is controlling citizens and preventing us from watching our watchers. Cops hate cameras because it exposes them to daylight.

It's to keep THEM safe from US, safe from exposure or embarrassment when they are over the line and out of control. It lets them control the narrative when their actions are questioned.
