Honestly I’ve never heard of a high profile jury taking a unanimous poll right away during deliberations especially in a murder trial. It’s not unusual for it to he a 50/50 split on the initial vote. As far as her comment about GZ getting out of his car, she did say that he made a bad choice getting out of his vehicle but she never said it was illegal and she even said the reason she thinks he got out was because he was “egged on” by the non-emergency 911 operator by his questions to Zimmerman, and I think that’s a fair assessment on her part.

She was pretty much on GZ’s side saying he was a good person and she felt bad for him, and he was the one screaming for help and had a right to defend himself with a gun.

The pot was probably the reason he went out for skittles and tea.

Not likely.

Skittles and watermelon tea are 2 of the 3 ingredients in "purple drank" or "purple lean". The third ingredient is cough syrup, either with codeine or Dextromethorphan (DM). Martin's Facebook page had an extensive discussion about the recipe.

Martin's liver autopsy showed signs of damage that could be caused by lean/drank abuse. DM abuse also can cause aggressive/paranoid behavior.

Wish to hell she hadn’t said that because the “judge” told them to disregard what he said because it was speculation.

The fact that the cop did not observe any of the tells associated with deceit was not speculation. The only thing that would be remotely speculative would have been whether GZ could have been someone who could lie freely without it bothering him in the slightest; I think GZ's other behaviors make clear that he was not such a person.

It might have been possible to put the officer through a questioning about his police training which would then create the legal basis to NOT ignore the statement, but for whatever reason Mark O’Mara probably felt that would be a sideshow.

Yes, one would really need to multiply conspiracy theories to paint GZ as an easy liar. The few missteps he has been allegedly caught at (re the financing of his defense) are still matters for a hearing, and they involved vague questions.

And Trayvon was probably trying really hard to be “cool.” There’s no reason to use Skittles and flavored tea if the object is merely to quaff down so much dextromethorphan that you get looey in the head. In fact the extra liquid might make it more difficult to get the desired dose.

True enough... they asked for a location, and not having a GPS, then George got out to seek a street sign which would be easier to read on foot than from his truck in that heavy rain.
