I guess I just got lucky.
We are not only husband and wife but are still friends after all these years.
I can not imagine life without my partner by my side, and she feels the same way. Yet we know as we get older one of us is going to be left (temporarily) behind.
Consider yourself lucky. I felt that way about my husband of 12 years. He passed away almost 10 years ago. I’m 49 and have been on a couple of dates since he passed. One guy I really liked was getting his business degree. Once he graduated, he said he was going to apply for disability. I dumped him. He could fish everyday, but not work? Been single and haven’t dated since then. Oh well...
