So you are against social conservatism and support the libertarians on border issues?
I'm passionately against abortion and am opposed to the creepy extent to which the feds have taken over every aspect of our lives. I'd like a constitutional government, and I'd like the US to be self-sufficient again. But if we lose this battle on the invasion of the US, there's no coming back....we've lost the war. If that happens, the Republican Party deserves to go down in flames.
Of course I'd prefer a constitutionally conservative viable option to emerge. I'm not confident that's realistic. So, the best we can hope for is less federal government and more localism.
The 'pubs in the HOR have to stop this. I'm not the only one out here who will never vote for them again if they don't just scrap the thing...as Palin did say (I'll give her credit) if something comes out of the HOR, it's going to be rewritten and we lose.

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND CIVIL ORDER
IMMIGRATION:
THE ISSUE: We welcome all refugees to our country and condemn the efforts of U.S. officials to create a new “Berlin Wall” which would keep them captive. We condemn the U.S. government’s policy of barring those refugees from our country and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects.
THE PRINCIPLE: We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age or sexual preference. We oppose government welfare and resettlement payments to non-citizens just as we oppose government welfare payments to all other persons.
SOLUTIONS: We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.
TRANSITIONAL ACTION: We call for the elimination of all restrictions on immigration, the abolition of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all people who have entered the country illegally.
You don’t get what I’m saying. If we lose this issue it doesn’t matter what the immigration-invasion policy is....the US is gone.
There was a thread here a few weeks ago on the RSC. It perked my interest. It is lost, I couldn’t find it.
Some time after that thread I went looking and found the web site. It had no info on what was cooking on immigration.
As I recall the thread, the RSC has existed for a fairly long time but had a very few members. Over the years it grew and now has lot, in excess of a hundred, I think (457/170= 37%) If it can act single mindedly, it is a force that must beconsidered.
Many here are very narrow in their views and if any event or action does not precisely agree with Christ like purity to their view, it is dismissed. I have a wider view. There is not and will not be Christ like conservative purity in any legislation. Therefore, any tempering of legislation toward a conservative goal is good.
It seems the RSC can have a good effect.
The web site is thin, perhaps not even current. That means either lack of resources or playing cards close to the vest. Past success rather than current strategy seems to be the site use. There seems to be no chick counting in eggs in the nest. To me, that is a good use of the resource.
But surely you must see that the libertarian position on immigration quoted in post 123, is one of absolute self destruction, the worst possible.
Which issue?
Immigration, the fundamental demographic transformation of the country.
There are plenty of laws on the books to get the invaders out of the US, secure our borders, and punish employers for hiring invaders and other unnecessary non-citizen labor.
OK, then just remember post 123, libertarians are the worst on immigration.
Well I am leaving the GOP and Marco Rubio....Put the Freedom Party inside the GOP and let them elect one conservative to run against the rhino...
A faction that will need all of the tools of an actual party to itself, and even their own ballot spots should they be needed.
