Passage of the Amnesty Bill Will Spell the End of Our Republic
The American Thinker ^ | 6/26/13 | James Simpson

Posted on 06/26/2013 5:49:03 AM PDT by Lakeshark

On Monday, June 24, 2013, the U.S. Senate passed a cloture motion (which ends debate) on the Schumer-Corker-Hoeven Amendment to the Gang of Eight's horrifying illegal alien amnesty bill - mislabeled "immigration reform."

The purpose of this amnesty proposal is to capture future votes for the Democratic Party. Those who do not acknowledge that blatantly obvious fact either suffer from some debilitating mental illness or are working for the other side.

On rare occasions, even the Left admit the objective. **snip**
Herein lies the real reason Democrats are slavering for this amnesty bill to pass and are tickling themselves pink that there are Republicans stupid and gullible, (or corrupt) enough to help them realize their dream. And make no mistake, an increase of 30 million in the Democrat Party voter base will guarantee Democrat majorities in the U.S. House, Senate and Presidency for the foreseeable future.

Despite the impossibly bizarre belief by some Republicans that amnesty will make illegals "like us," a high level Congressional source recently acknowledged to me that passage of this bill will spell the end of our Republic and that we literally have only weeks to stop it.**snip**

No matter what state you live in and whether or not your senators are Republican or Democrat, let them know just what you think of this lousy bill and their betrayal of the public interest: call 202-224-3121 and ask for your Senator.

Furthermore, sign Ted Cruz's petition. About 100,000 have signed to date. Call and email Senators and House members. Urge your friends and neighbors to do the same. If this passes the Senate our last chance will be the House. We need to let them know now what we think.

Before this whole immigration thing goes any further, I want an answer to the question that no one is asking -what will happen to those ‘currently in the shadows’ that do not come ‘out of the shadows’? Will the government actively go looking for them? If yes, what will they do if they find them? If they can find them then, why can't they find them now? If they can find them now why don't we send them home to start over legally? All rhetorical questions I know, but this whole thing currently assumes 100% of the illegals will comply. I don't see that happening. So what is the plan for those who don't?

Its as good as over in the Senate. Time to really put the crush on our US reps. It has to be stopped in the House.

There is a “dirty little secret” lurking here, one which -—if admitted publicly -— would cause tremendous upheaval.

More workers are needed here to support our massive government expenditures. The welfare queens and their hit-and-run boyfriends simply will not work. They may be lazy, but they’re not stupid. Why in the world would you take a pay cut in order to spend eight hours a day away from your snack cupboard and your flatscreen TV?

On the other hand, Hispanic immigrants have historically shown a good deal of industry, most often by doing work that is “beneath” the lazy Americans... but work that still needs to be done by SOMEONE.

If masses of Hispanic immigrants (the obvious target of the immigration bills) are legitimized, not only will the workforce numbers be vastly increased, but -—more importantly -— most of them will be “on the books” and be subject to tax witholding. And the number of people contributing to social security will rise back up to levels needed to sustain the program.

Does this sound like a “win-win” for Marco Rubio, whose constituency is primarily retirees and Hispanics?

These workers get more benefits from the government than they will ever pay in taxes.

Rand Paul said today, there is still time to kill or repair the bill. Trojan Horse moron.

Don't give up on the senate yet, but start working on your house reps as the firewall.

I'm asking our rep to not allow ANY immigration bill to come up, and to be a leader in calling for stopping this bill in its tracks.

These workers get more benefits from the government than they will ever pay in taxes, and that MASSIVE BUSH LIE won’t wash here. Over 80% of those “won’t do” jobs are done by Americans!

Corrupt, stupid AND cowardly.

Such a mess.

I just talked to the office of our rep (somewhat conservative), and had a good conversation. I'm going to call this same person who takes his calls every week until this damn bill dies.

She told me he wouldn't even consider voting for a bill that was up without the border being fixed ALREADY! Woo hoo! She listened quite intently when I spoke about the watershed nature of this senate bill, then talked about reasons for donating, not donating, or donating to his opponents and how I was already looking for a way to donate to Marco Rubio's opponent in the Florida primary (I said it all very nicely).......

Rush just spoke of how the phone lines are melting down in DC over this, and that it's beginning to have an effect.

It ain't over til it's over!

We have no option, but to fight. The alternative is that the country is lost .

Just now got to see your reply and thanks for that.

IMO, the problem is that new jobs will not be created in order to meet the supply of new workers.

Using the understated government figures from this year, 11.7 million are currently out of work. By adding another 15 million to the work force, where will available jobs come from? Even if those working here “under the table” now go on the tax roles, a likely consequence will be employers actually reducing the number of available jobs, as putting these jobs “on the books” will be expensive for employers.

What I strongly suspect is that a huge of number of this new work force will, as you stated, see a bigger benefit in receiving government assistance versus working for a pay cut, as this new work force isn’t stupid either.

I agree with what you say. I see something even worse that could happen.

In many cities, the minority community and other lower-income populations have still not seen much improvement in employment. These vulnerable neighborhoods with cheap housing is where this new wave of hispanics will live. There could be a really awful clash of cultures, with demand greater than supply for jobs, services, police protection, dominance etc. It wouldn't take much to have all-out inner city chaos.

Inner cities need entry level and lower wage jobs. They need them for US citizens. Thinking that this situation can be remediated while tens of millions of people with a different culture and no desire to assimilate are made legal is insanity.
