CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Caterpillar Inc. is no longer giving money to the Boy Scouts because the organization discriminates against homosexuals, a spokeswoman for the Illinois-based heavy equipment manufacturer confirmed Thursday.
The company's move wasn't directly tied to the recent Boy Scouts decision to continue to bar homosexual adults from roles within the organization while allowing openly gay children to be scouts. Instead, spokeswoman Rachel Potts said, the company decided to cut off funding while reviewing a request for $25,000 that came in last year from a local group in Illinois.
That decision was never announced publicly or communicated to the Boy Scouts of America, only to the local group, she said. But she added that the Boy Scouts' policy that continues to bar homosexual adults from working in the organization is "discriminatory."
But prohibitions against both gay scouts and adult leaders have long driven protests against the Boy Scouts. Last year, several companies withdrew financial support, including Intel Corporation and United Parcel Service.

Worship of sodomy....it is rampant.
RE: Wouldnt be surprised if the homo nazis are putting pressure by threatening to drop their shares in they dont bow before the gays.
Idiots. If they drop their shares for the sole purpose of spite regardless of earnings, profits, revenues and sales, there would be others who would scoop it up. NAMELY ME for one.
American Scouts has a nice ring.
Ping A Ding
Boy Scouts still don’t allow gay scoutmasters. The liberal activists will torture every conservative “homophobic” group to within a inch of its life.
I refuse to buy caterpillars anymore. That’s it. No more caterpillars.
When a majority of the media execs, and leaders in Washington are homo’s, it’s not as hard to bully people around and wrap you in red tape.
girl scouts are already co-oped by the lesbians years ago.
In railroad locomotives, that’d be General Electric, unfortunately. (CAT currently owns Electro-Motive Diesel, which used to be GM’s locomotive division.)
As far as giant mining dumptrucks, you have Bucyrus (bought out Terex in 2009), Komatsu, Hitachi and Liebherr.
Biggest competitor as far as bulldozers IIRC is Ingersoll Rand.
Lots of other manufacturers of “genset” diesels too.
Must be a molester high up at CAT. Or they need government money to survive.
So does this mean that Cat thinks it is appropriate for young boys to go off on campouts with perverts who have a mental disorder that has them attracted to males? I suppose Cat has a reason to promote the introduction young boys to the perversion of homosexuality.
I agree. American Scouts does have a nice ring.
This story needs to make it to construction companies. Their future equipment purchase decisions need to include the knowledge of an equipment vendor that promotes devient behavior. I have to believe the “real men” in the construction industry have little use for forcing homo perversions on children.
Who cares the Boy Scouts are done anyway.
So, when are they starting in on the Girl Scouts?
Caterpillar may just be headed in the same direction as JC Penney.
...or take it to the next level and don't have any national council. Operate each local Scout group as an independent "cell". Decentralize, and the marxists have no means of control. We need to use guerrilla and asymmetrical warfare tactics to defeat these control freaks.
That is the logical conclusion. With 100,000 troops in the USA, they could even operate a small national council with a tiny donation from each troop. They wouldn't have the nice offices or perks, but they would have independence. They won't take this path though - it is to extreme for people who have got used to a certain way of doing things. They would rather try to suck up to corporations co-opted by the gay lobby.
