St_Thomas_Aquinas ~:” Why wouldn’t you trust a communist? “
With the electronic ear , a commie wouldn’t even need the KGB , or spetsnaz !
The only terrorism I see is electonic domestic spying
and a buddy in NSA.
Who provides oversight over NSA .. Holder ?? </sarc>

“So THATS why McCain and Lindsay Graham vote like idiots. The NSA are listening.”
That is the winning answer of the day

Is anyone surprised by this? Anyone at all? Give someone power and secrecy and they’ll eventually abuse it.

Believe what you want to believe.
I personally believe they’re either on the take or blackmailed.

This is similar to the 900+ files of political enemies that Clinton had in the WH.

“There are isolated examples of the Patriot Act being abused.”
By some low level rogue flunkies in Cincinatti maybe?

Of the two choices you present, I’ll choose “on the take.” But then I’m of the belief they’re all crooked, corrupt bastards anyway.

I just wonder how much of their snooping led to IRS audits.

There is a reason why government should be limited, and the power government employees have should be limited, and it doesn’t matter how professional the employees are. Power corrupts.

Liberals are immature to begin. Immature people are petty and vengeful. Give them infinite ability to snoop on people and ruin their lives, and you have a pretty toxic brew going.
One gets the sense that the living God is about to click the refresh button on the great octopus that is the Federal Government.

Well, we know for sure that this surveillance on the American people had ZERO to do with fighting terrorism. If it had, then the Ft. Hood massacre would have been prevented. Surely, the NSA would have been monitoring phone conversations between Nidal Hasan and Anwar al-Awlaki. Unfortunately, the NSA wasn't looking for buzzwords like 'Jihad'. Nope, the buzzwords they were looking for were 'TEA Party', 'Second Amendment', and 'Freedom'.
