The trouble with conservative parties in Europe is that they get profoundly erudite and charismatic leaders, but those leaders don’t have subordinates that also can and do put on a good show.
Pim Fortuyn, Geert Wilders, Nigel Farage, were or are the faces of their parties. Without them, their parties fade away. Even though they are unified internally, even small parties need at least a half dozen spokesmen recognized and liked by the public.
