That is a most telling summary sentence from this excellent article by Mark Steyn. Another source (beside NRO) titled the same column "Bystanders in Their Own Fate" - which I believe is more descriptive of once-Great Britain's self-induced impotence. The invading Mohammedans can smell the fear and weakness in their European hosts - who lack the courage to fight back and who even subsidize their own destruction with generous welfare income.

I think I know what you're complaining about. Sometimes when I try to post printer friendly pages at National Review I get a bunch of html code for punctuation with it. I think it maybe browser or operating system dependent. I didn't see that this time from my end. When I do, I use the same URL that you used to make your link.
Also you are not allowed to defend your property with force. There is a mix of state laws here about that, but even in states without castle doctrine, there are lots of cases where people can defend their property with force.

GB has a higher rate because of classification. We have violent crimes which arent classed in other countries as violent crime. I have quoted a famous ‘boat weather’ offence which only the UK classes as violent crime.

There are sections of America that are filled with these kinds of passive politically correct people who count only on the government to protect them. But if this scene had occurred in Texas or Oklahoma or any other Bastion of Americana, that Muzzie would have been down long before he was able to hack off the head of that soldier.
True Americans (what’s left of us) don’t wait for the police to save themselves or others.
Maybe America will become an Eloi society someday, but IMHO England and most of what was Western Europe is already there.

Thanks for that link. That strange insertion of italics brought it all back to me. Fwiw. I, being in Canada purchased a new key board. Under "Caps Lock," it had in green lettering "Verr maj". I spent many hours silently cursing over the mess made. No amount of re entering it helped.
Now I may be wrong but..... I understand it is a "bilingual keyboard". The other language being French. Finally I went to Google. I had to go to Control Panel. Then to Clock. Language & Region. Having done that, I was given a choice of English (Canada) or English (United States. It was set at English (Canada) so I switched to English (United States)- No more problems, thank heavens.
