Ineffective management at the Internal Revenue Service led to certain groups being singled out for more than 18 months based on their names or mission statements, according to an Inspector General report obtained by ABC News.
IRS officials told IG investigators that their actions were not influenced by any outside officials or agencies. The use of inappropriate criteria to screen applicants resulted in significant delays for groups applying for tax exempt status, and also allowed unnecessary requests for information, the report found.
Among the criteria that IRS employees used to flag groups for extra scrutiny was having words like "tea party" or "patriots" in their names, focusing on issues like government spending, debt or taxes, and statements that criticized how the country is being run.
"Criteria for selecting applications for the team of specialists should focus on the activities of the organizations and whether they fulfill the requirements of the law," the IG report found. "Using the names or policy positions of organizations is not an appropriate basis for identifying applications for review by the team of specialists."

They can't do that if, as you say, his own actions result in his political kneecapping.
Bush’s Fault.
Exactly, and this investigation is not over yet. Think of this as Susan Rice going on Sunday news interviews after Benghazi. The truth will come out and I think it will be a bit quicker than Benghazi.
Sure that is why they only targeted Conservative groups.
Among the criteria IRS used:
1) Does the party have WHITE SKIN
2) Do they believe in AGW
3) Did they vote for THE FOREIGNER
4) When did they realize THE FOREIGNER and WITHHOLDER had no involvement whatsoever in FAST and FURIOUS
They must have made printed documents and manuals with guidelines. Perhaps we should start searching the web for them ?
We need Emperor Zero's Blackberry communications sequestered.
Orders straight from the top and I don’t doubt it for a minute. He hates governing but loves to try and destroy his enemies(Republicans). I think it’s the only thing he likes about the job-the way he can totally abuse his power against those that don’t agree with him. Power hungry dictator wanna be.
...or that it was common knowledge that this type of partisan behavior would be condoned. It is rampant all throughout the Regime- non-Obama supporters get treated differently. Obama uses enough code words and enough inflammatory rhetoric to give everyone the idea of what is expected, even if he and his henchman didn’t say “Do This”.
And this was known at the highest levels. Because the Tea Party movement had been so successful at motivating conservatives voters in 2010, the IRS delays and harassment was an organized vote suppression effort for 2012, an effort whose goals were to prevent more Tea Party and other conservative groups from organizing legally and carrying on the successful voter turnout efforts of 2010.
I think that’s precisely what happened, and I think there is a good chance it will be proven.
This was a nod-wink with a hey nonny. Ineffective my keister.
And what about Justice Roberts before his strange Obamacare decision???
Did the IRS waterboard John Roberts? That was such a surprise, I suspected he was threatened in some form.
When will he step forward?
Ineffective management = CRIME!
Time to investigate and prosecute.
