From wiki:
A drive to privatize some government lands during the mid-1990s succeeded in 1997 with the sale of the reserve to Occidental Petroleum, the highest bidder. Occidental took over operations in early 1998 and has been the principal operator since then; in 2008 they had a 78% interest in the oil field. Current reserves are claimed to be either 106,554,000 barrels of oil (according to the California Department of Conservation)[1] or 484,000,000 barrels of oil equivalent, according to Occidental Petroleum.[3]
Elsewhere:
For example, in the Democratic Party, Vice President Al Gore has a long-time relationship with Occidental Petroleum that has been enormously beneficial to the company. Occidental’s late chairman, the controversial Armand Hammer, liked to say that he had Gore’s father, Senator Albert Gore, Senior, quote, “in my back pocket”, unquote. When the elder Gore left the Senate in 1970, Hammer hired him for $500,000 a year. Personally and professionally the vice president has profited from Occidental largess. To this day he still draws $20,000 a year from a land deal in Tennessee brokered between his father and Hammer.
How does a FALL in the average temperatures reflect a negative in the sustainability of life?
At lower temperatures MORE CO2 is absorbed and held in the surface waters of the world, supplying more of the plant food that aquatic plants need to thrive and produce oxygen, which in turn makes a more hospitable environment for the sea life. Oxygen dissolved in water soon reaches its saturation point, and escapes to the atmosphere at large, where it is available to the majority of the rest of living things on the planet. I am not sure how it would be calculated, but in all likelihood, the surface of the seas probably give up MORE oxygen to the atmosphere than all the rain forests and savannahs put together.
If only because so much of the surface of the planet is covered with water of varying degrees of salinity.
Al Gore is entirely devoid of any kind of critical thinking.
Al Gore = crazy man.
Did that massage therapist use ethical oil?
Algore is such a bitter clinger. Clinging to copies of “An Inconvenient Truth”. Lighten up Al. Go home and spend more time with your money.
Nor was it unethical for him to take a hundred million petrodollars for his low-rated cable network.
My GOD, what liberal hypocrisy!!! Didn’t an oil nation just PURCHASE Algore for hundreds of millions of dollars and turn him into a mega millionaire?
Fixed it.
“Gore defines the low IQ point of sustainable life.”
Well, 95% of the political left places on the left side of the Bell Curve. The other 5% of the left is made up of the greedy leaders in charge of the low information voters.
Call him “no controlling legal authority” Al.
There is no such thing as an ethical DemonRat...algore is just one of the more glaring examples of this truth.
So God, will take this statement "No such thing as ethical oil" and judge him by it.
When can we expect Al to to return the Armand Hammer oil money that he’s lived on his entire life?
In 2006, the Gore TN mansion devoured 221,000 kWh of electricity (20 X the national average) and nothing has changed since then. Way to practice what you preach, Al.
This POS doesn’t know the meaning of ethical.
I totally trust AlGore to know what “not ethical” is.
....and there is no such thing as an ethical Al Gore...
He never heard that from his Pappy Gore who wae in Armand Hammer’s pocket with Occidental Petroleum
Of course Al gave back all that unethical family money, right??
