The Obama administration's second installment of sequester scare tactics is working about as well as its first go 'round. Run away:
The White House has endorsed a plan to eliminate FAA spending cuts that have cause air travel delays across the country. The agency has been forced to furlough air traffic controllers as part of the automatic budget cuts that kicked in this spring. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wants to end the cuts by claiming savings from the draw down of war spending in Iraq and Afghanistan. Republicans reject his proposal calling it an accounting gimmick.
Of course it's an accounting gimmick. The point is that Democrats are desperate to extricate themselves from this mess, which they orchestrated in a bone-headed attempt to rile public anger against any spending cuts. Good luck with this, guys. Instead of hurting Republicans -- which was the entire point -- this entirely manufactured crisis has infuriated travelers, who inconveniently (a) seem to recall that the sequester was proposed and signed by Obama, and (b) aren't buying the idea that a tiny reduction in the rate of spending increase is enough to justify disruptive furloughs. They're right on both counts, and even some mainstream media outlets have taken the administration to the woodshed. Here's the Chicago Tribune, Obama's hometown paper that endorsed him twice, upbraiding the president. Zero words minced:

Who’s your POTUS, baby?
Wow. An honest federal employee.
I am REALLY looking forward to voter reaction next January when 9 million people lose the the healthcare Obama promised them they could keep, premiums double, businesses pay the fine rather than be porked by ObamaCare (leaving 50M employees without healthcare), and doctors retire at the greatest rate in recorded US history.
We are in a pitched battle with a bloated bureaucracy that will not give up a dime of “it’s entitlement”.
I saw Karl Rove on a show the other night and he stated that the FAA has a certain discretion even within the so-called cuts to cut elsewhere, that it was all political. I have no love for Karl Rove but he has been in government enough to know what he is talking about.
Nice economy you've got there. Be a pity if anything was to happen to it...
Despite all of that, I STILL think they’d vote for Obama and the Democrats again.
The most corrupt administration ever and all Boehner does is cry ...
Since president hussein always manages to find money for his pals in Syria, Egypt, Hamas and so on, perhaps he missed a good bet in not hiring Moslem air traffic controllers to fill the gap in the ranks of the FAA, whose air traffic controllers’ salaries he didn’t wish to pay.
obama’s miscalculation was that air travelers are not his typical low-information voter
An honest federal employee... a lonely, lonely, hated man.
Yup, coming off what was perhaps the worse week of his political life last week, this one has not helped much. Look at the picture of the president’s at the Bush library. One of them looks out of place, not because he is more tanned.
Keep up the pressure on this commie and he will self destruct big time, hopefully in front of a live audience.
There, fixed it.
Privatize.
FAA can certify ATCs hired by the airlines. Probably be more efficient because the ATCs would be responsible for the birds of their employer only; provides a bit less distraction for each ATC.

Actually, January will be good timing. With the 2014 election process getting under way, it will be a “plus” for the Conservatives if only they can find some really good candidates.
“King Obama, our current communists dictator, is beginning to get his as@ kicked. Hope this encourages more.”
He’s now solidly in double minus digits in the Rasmussen Poll of Approve vs. Disapprove. Today it was -12%, but earlier in the week he hit a new low of -15%.
I am looking forward to those -25% numbers from last year. He’s not running next year, but his “approval” numbers should help take control of the Senate away from Dingy Harry.
