When President Obama first ran in 2008, he claimed his economic policies would "foster economic growth from the bottom up and not just from the top down." He said he'd put in place "an immediate rescue plan for the middle class" and would end the "tired, worn-out, trickle-down ideologies we've been seeing for so many years."
Obama got all he wanted in his first two years in the White House, when Democrats had solid control of Congress a massive stimulus, auto industry bailouts, temporary middle class tax cuts, vast new regulations on businesses and ObamaCare.

"I am for doing good to the poor,
but I differ in opinion of the means.
I think the best way of doing good to the poor,
is not making them easy in poverty,
but leading or driving them out of it."
Ben Franklin, 1766

Anyone who thought Obama’s policies would work as he promised doesn’t know basic economies.
Not only do they not produce wealth for everyone, they don’t produce wealth for ANYONE. They only redistribute wealth. And not from rich to poor, but from producers to the well connected.
Right now my wife and I make more then we ever thought we would make, we live pretty well, and are buying another house. We both work in differnt fields. I never thought I would make this much when I was younger and cost of living is relativly cheap here in the south... but I cant wait to leave...
That’s the paradox of “trickle up economics”.
The higher you raise taxes on the rich to provide goods and services for the poor, the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer.
The welfare state was never intended to get anyone out of poverty, it was designed to create poverty.
The rich get richer in what I call a Robbin’ Hood government. That is because the rich hide and/or invest their assets but everyone else cannot afford to. Thus, when the stealing takes place, it comes from those who have something that can be stolen.
