Much of progressive left is opposed to religious freedom because it is diametrically opposite to their liberal agenda. The same sex marriage issue is driven by the progressive movement to hinder Christianity in America.

RE :”
According to the unequivocal moral precepts of the Judeo-Christian tradition explicit throughout both the Old and New Testaments homosexual behavior is sin. Sin is evil. Homosexual behavior is the central, defining characteristic of so-called gay marriage. Therefore, gay marriage is evil. Christians are obligated to avoid sin to do no evil.
I know; its not popular to speak such simple truths in todays politically correct world. But Im not out to win a popularity contest.” As soon as many Republicans bought into the idea that gays were a discriminated minority due to their ‘orientation’ equivalent to race or sex, they (we) lost this.
If it is ‘lifestyle’ then we can fight it.
If it is ‘an essential and natural part of their being’ then we lose.
