You don’t have to go to Europe, Cyprus, Spain, or Greece to see the collapse that is coming. It is here. Every day in our grocery stores with millions and millions charging off food (lots of junk food) on EBT cards the rest of us have to pay for.

This is the face of post-modernism. Once you throw out moral absolutes then anything can be rationalized.

Add to that the price of groceries going through the roof. A can of green beans my wife always buys has jumped from 67 cents to 80 cents in the last two weeks. A head of lettuce has jumped from $1.21 to $1.50 in that same time. Either the prices have and are going up or the packages are getting smaller but cost the same as the larger package. Times is about to get tougher. Just like obama planned.

Two women were walking through Hawley on the morning of Sept. 7 when they noticed a naked man who appeared to be covered in blood standing in the shadows of a garage near a vacant home at 521 Hudson St. They moved on but Nancy Dean-Corino was tackled a few minutes later. She testified in October that Mr. Cimino wrapped his arms and legs around her and she felt something gnawing on her head. After his grip loosened and Ann Monaghan was able to get a good look at her friend, she saw Ms. Dean-Corino was covered in blood but none of it was her own. It all came from Mr. Cimino, who had deep wounds on his hands and arms that left muscle tissue exposed.

I buy groceries for my wife and I.....a good gallon of milk is more than a gallon of gas, and bacon worth anything is $6 or more for a pound.....these EBTs don’t even look at the price...they let the cashier tell them how much over they are then they sort out what they want put back on the shelves.

"A head of lettuce has jumped from $1.21 to $1.50 in that same time" It was $2.49 here at a local produce market and $1.79 at the local Wal-Mart.

François Hollandes former budget minister and tax tsar was charged with tax fraud following a shock confession that he had held a secret foreign bank account for 20 years and had repeatedly lied about it. This could never happen in the U.S., not with upstanding guys like Tim Geitner as Secretary of the Treasury.[tiny bit of sarc]

It was $2.49 here at a local produce market and $1.79 at the local Wal-Mart. It was relatively free from my back yard the other night.
Was good on the burgers.

You DO NOT want to be on the bad end of this. What's the good end?

Grocerie prices are going up drasctically but it’s not reported. And if it’s not reported it’s not happening as far as obama worshippers are concerned. They have no idea why they’re outgo has increased and don’t care.
And their insurance premiums are going up but that’s okay, too. And, WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE how much gasoline costs?

I’m gardening but didn’t plant any lettuce. Now I’m wishing I had. I know I’m not saving much money...yet. But I’m learning and the savings will come at harvest. I hope I get more out than than I’ve put in.

I believe that grocery market is nearing a tipping point where a largest enough percentage of the buyers are no longer paying with their own money and therefore do care about price. This causes rapid inflation in the market. Groceries may be about to go the way of college tuition and medical costs and for the exact same reason.

Are you saying that if it happens no one will be able to buy groceries without taking out a Stafford loan?

Yep.
We're calling this "practice" - and if/when we really need it, we'll have figured it out.
The lettuces have turned out to be the less fussy of everything!

"Where are you?" Mobile. To hot and humid for lettuce.
