Freeper Doctor Raoul Has Died
Raouls Family | 3/25/2013 | Abner

Posted on 03/25/2013 10:08:35 AM PDT by abner

Doctor Raoul died Saturday of a rare form of cancer. He was 58.

Raoul's family contacted us this morning to see if they could find out more about his activities as an activist.

This is such a shock. His family is looking for photos and stories about him.

He is and always will be a Free Republic icon.

He kind of fell off the face of the earth about 2 or 3 years ago now. All attempts we made to reach him failed.

If you have photos please contact me. Please feel free to post stories and I will make sure the family sees this thread.

“Swim to Cuba” comes readily to mind.

OMG... that was priceless! As well as "Commies Out of DC!"

I got a phone call from Kristinn this morning giving me the bad news. The world is a lot less interesting without Dr. Raoul walking among us. His dedication, memory, and quit whit made him one of the best Freepers on hands down. I’m honored to have have known him and will always be grateful for his words of wisdom. May he be in the arms of our sweet Savior.

Here's the car Raoul arrived in that evening, parked in the anti-war Moonbats' faces. It is a "chase car" from the US Flag Balloon, pictured below:

We totally agree with your “modest rant” in #263, Ken. Actually I think you might be surprised at just how many FReepers (and former FReepers) agree with you...

I don't know if anyone pinged you to this thread. Another member of Heaven's Chapter of Free Republic has been added. He'll be right at home.

This post is so wonderful, voc, brings tears to my eyes that amid all the scrapping and complaining we usually see here that so much love is displayed for Dr. Raoul who impacted countless lives. It takes a tragic event like this to bring out the best in freepers.

Blessings on his family as they mourn the premature loss of their beloved father and read of the many ways his life touched so many. And now we all get to read about those adventures, to see the wonderful photographs and to see and listen to those freepers who made such a difference.

Rest in peace, Dr. Raoul.

An unforgettable scene outside one of our NYC get-togethers: Raoul and Race exchanging shirts. Raoul had on his Club Gitmo shirt, and Race was on his way to China, hoping to get photographed wearing it on Tiananmen Square. Was it Rush who kept showing people wearing the shirt in strange places? It worked!

They were too well-mannered to do it in the restaurant.

FReepers are the only guys who give seats to women on the subway, too.

Yes, Dr Raoul was the BEST!

When Move America Forward was touring across the country collecting cards and letters for the troops in the Mideast, Dr Raoul jumped on the bus and helped guide us through New York.

To the Post office--to drop off hundreds of boxes of cards and letters to go to Iraq--and to The World Trade center and other places we needed to go.

RIP Good Doctor
