I get the laws but good lord some common sense should be applied.

This where an informed jury is supposed to nullify the law.

But we don't like informed juries in this country. They are bad for the re-election chances of so many judges and DA's.

This was a very informed jury and he deserves every moment in jail!

Maybe I should reread the article,but it doesn’t look as if he had a jury trial. His lawyer probably worked a plea, and the obviously perplexed judge had no choice but to follow the sentencing guidelines. Sorry story all around. Incredibly stupid, both as to taping the sex and calling the bomb threat to his girlfriend’s school. Now he pays the rest of his life.
