Krugman: U.S. Needs Death Panels, Sales Taxes
Breitbart ^ | Joel Griffith

Posted on 02/05/2013 1:47:44 PM PST by JohnPDuncan

Nobel Prize winning “economist” Paul Krugman spoke at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C. last week. During the Q&A session following the lecture, an audience member asked him about the rising national debt.

Earlier in the evening, Krugman had already vocalized his satisfaction at President Obama’s apparent lack of concern over the exploding cumulative deficit. However, in a moment of brutal honesty, the esteemed Princeton professor revealed his long term prognosis. According to the professor:

Eventually we do have a problem. That the population is getting older, health care costs are rising…there is this question of how we’re going to pay for the programs. The year 2025, the year 2030, something is going to have to give…. …. We’re going to need more revenue…Surely it will require some sort of middle class taxes as well.. We won’t be able to pay for the kind of government the society will want without some increase in taxes… on the middle class, maybe a value added tax…And we’re also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits . So the snarky version…which I shouldn’t even say because it will get me in trouble is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this.

“Krugman: U.S. Needs Death Panels, Sales Taxes”

I’m starting to lean toward right-wing death squads myself. How about we let that left-wing commie freak assemble his death panels and we muster right-wing death platoons and we meet on the NY plains and have a battle.

I’d bet my house that the Nazi freak Krugman crawls away like a worm at the first shot.

Just google “Liverpool pathway controversy” to see how death panels are working in the UK national health system

It’s not as hard as you think.
Voltaire said, “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”
Seems the crowd is primed for group think. The Dems ‘two minutes of hate’ towards those who do not believe as they do just needs a match.

Try again, or haven’t you yet comprehended the total insanity of giving away the control of your healthcare decisions to some government bureaucrat? Could you quote me the part of the Constitution that allows this? So I guess you are arguing that somehow the insurance industry acts in the same fashion, but I would remind you that in a free market you choose your plan that fits your lifestyle and your needs. I guess if you really wanted to make an arguement you would be able to explain how Obamacare reduces the cost of medicine, it simply doesn’t all it does is grant power to the government to control you, but of course you Libs can’t digest that because you believe that is the role of centralized government planners, yes indeed that is apparently the change that Obama speaks so much about.... You see ultimately, EBT, Foodstamps, WIC, Obamacare, Obamaloan, Obamaphone, Obamahome those are the things that create the dependency, which will ensure slavery to our posterity. Wouldn’t it have been so terribly sad if the generation before ours felt that they could pass their burden of debt down to the future generation? Of course the debt in their day was the rise of a Madman that would have controlled the entire planet with his (Reich, which of course is no less significant to our survival as a country than the coming 20-30 trillion dollar debt bubble that will destroy America as it was founded and create the coming New World Order. Thanks for listening I hope you learned something, but I doubt you did.

I think that, in the back of our minds, we all know its coming; its just a matter of how soon.

Do you think he'll take out the Jews and Gypsies too? How about kids with cancer? Lot of medical costs involved with childhood cancer. And vets who are injured? Obama gonna kill them too?

Maybe camps for those whose politics don't jive? Why feed conservatives? Haven't we seen this before?

If we don’t want to give all our hard earned estate to drug companies, doctors and hospitals, we need to know how to plan an at home death. I cared for my mother and husband when they were dying of congestive heart failure and Alzheimers and the doctors said there was nothing more they could do. Neither wanted to die in a hospital hooked up to a lot of machines, so they begged me to care for them through the end. I had home Hospice which came in and helped in the last weeks. My Scots background husband said he’d be damned if the money he had worked so hard to save was going to the medical profession if he could help it. He wants it to go to our children and grandchildren after I am gone. Getting information from doctors you respect that nothing can be done to reverse the rapid dying process is not a “death panel”, it is reality. Like it or not! And I for one don’t plan to enrich the medical/pharmaceutical industrial complex.

Yes we have. And after watching the half-time show at the Super Bowl, it all came quite clear to me that the progression is inevitable. The US is the fastest developing Pagan culture in history; this culture is going backward at an amazing rate. Its Decivilizing. A society as sick as this one can’t long last, but the devestation they’ll leave in their wake will be monumental.

I understand what you’re saying, and you make a fair point. But if I understand correctly, your family made that decision not to be connected to machines for themselves, not the government.

My nephew (ten years old) has lung cancer, and I don’t want Obamacare bureaucrats making a cost-benefit decision about his life. My sister has taken a leave of absence to nurse him back to health, at a financial cost, of course, to her family.

Each life is precious, no matter how young, or how old.

I know that many would not be able to do what we did, but if more of us were determined to do so and had help making it work, it would save many millions of health care costs that the taxpayers otherwise might have to share. I believe that something like half or more of all medical costs are incurred in the last 6 months of life. It is hard for some to accept that when the stage of multiple organ failures is reached, that the dying person might be happier in their own home and bed, and not being wakened up at all hours poked, prodded and pricked time and again. In the year before my mother died she would phone me from the hospital at 3 am crying “I am sooo huuungry!” After she came to stay with me I would keep a little box next to her at night with snacks and a sippy cup of water and she was much happier.

I hope your nephew recovers. Encourage your sister to learn all she can about therapeutic nutrition, as this may help his recovery. If he is on chemo, and has nausea, then Pantothenic Acid, 200 to 250 mg. per day may help.
