Wow, that's good. It's like when O’Brian was forcing Winston Smith not to just believe that 2 + 2 = 5, but to actually “see” that it does. To truly conquer a populace you have to destroy traditional modes of thought. It seems that large portions of our nation have reached that point. Orwell was a prophet.

Indeed he was.
In his own way, so was Anthony Burgess.
He wrote Clockwork Orange sometime in the late 50s,
it was filmed in the late 60s, and it has increasingly
become a way of life in our own time.
Alex and his droogies were a dystopian flash mob,brilliantly
conceived and dropped into an indeterminate future social setting:at the time Burgess was writing, it was only the rowdy “Teddy Boys” who were seen as a threat to the British social order.
