Gun ban said to include handguns, shotguns (Feinstein's 'The AWB of 2013')

WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A retooled U.S. assault-weapons ban to be introduced Thursday was to include handguns and shotguns in addition to rifles, The Washington Times reported.

The bill, by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., titled "The Assault Weapons Ban of 2013," was also expected to decrease the number of military-style features a gun may have before it's considered an assault weapon to one from two, the newspaper said.

Feinstein's bill would also create a national gun registry for the government to track lawful gun owners, the Times said.

Magazines, or ammunition storage and feeding devices within or attached to a repeating firearm, would be limited to 10 rounds, the newspaper said.

The fact that a lone individual with ties to groups like the NRA or TEA Party could destroy those groups is ridiculous. They have a long history that is enough to see they aren't producing violent people. The fact is that we can't win in the long run on anything this fragile.

We are constantly hearing Conservatives speaking in annoying manners trying to explain a message that obviously isn't meant to cause violence, and is done out of fear of getting blamed for something by the msm. There are many too afraid to even mention that we were given the right to bear arms to overthrow a tyrannical government.

Conservatives will get smeared no matter what. If that destroys an entire movement, which is very possible, then it's already doomed to fail unless the msm is taken off the air. We are not capable of victory as long as the enormous mainstream media is airing it's propaganda, and suppression of news seen as harmful to their nefarious plans.

The msm slime are an evil enemy that is unrivaled by Islamic terrorist, and almost every other enemy we ever faced. They are much closer to destroying us than the Nazis or Japs ever were in WW2. They are no better than those enemies either. They gave the tyrant Obama his power. The most powerful individual propagandist out there are the biggest enemies we have faced.

I wonder when radical leftist such as domestic terrorist Bill Ayers will orchestrate a bombing similar to the one in Oklahoma City to use lies tying it to the patriot movement. I'm sure a radical like Ayers could see the end justifying the means. Sadly something like that would do great damage, and likely destroy much of the mainstream Patriot movement. It doesn't seem that farfecthed these days.

***to decrease the number of military-style features a gun may have before it’s considered an assault weapon to one from two, the newspaper said. ****

So,if two features in the past, made a rifle “evil”, now one item makes it “evil”, in the future what is to prevent the Congress from declaring NO military features is enough to declare a firearm “evil”?

It’s coming!

“The bill, by Sen. Dianne Feinstein”

No one, especially the media, seem to care that Diane’s husband, Richard Blum, IMPORTS ASSAULT RIFLES FROM CHINA!
He got a waiver from the Clinton admin under the ban to import thousands of them. He also supplied arms in the Iraq war.
THAT should be on every front page! The media makes me hurl.

I dont live in her district do you? Then we cant vote her out. Maybe AuntB can as she lives in 'illegal land' CA.

I like Di again,
In 1993 she crafted that gun bill that helped wipe out the 40 year old Dem congress in 1994.

We need more Dems like her who put principles ahead of end results. They will help even out the R party handicap LOL.
We need more like her on their side.

That's not the handicap I had in mind,
hopefully the Senate DINOs will have guns put to their heads by the libs to make suicide votes, as in 1993. They need to act more on principle than survival.

The DINOs in the Senate are already scared of these votes and they know the gun ban will never see a vote in the House .

If Reid does get something very weak through the Senate with 1 or 2 GOPn votes Bohner and Cantor can just say
“We have to get the budget resolved before we take up anything else, that is this nation's #1 threat”

OPPPs, no gun vote.

How about this, the House afterward(after the Senate) passes a compromise bill that strengthens background checks but makes gun free zones illegal for schools ??, that should kill it. LOL

“...strengthens background checks ...”

Just curious...How do they “strengthen” a background check?

PA already does NICS and state level PICS. If you’re a criminal or a mental history patient, it shows up immediately and you’re denied the transfer.

This is Political Weasel-speak for outlawing private long-arm sales and family pass-down, nothing more. Handguns already have to be transferred by an FFL, and PA SP keep a database (which is illegal by the way).

But once again, only “law-abiding” people do things this way. It prevents ZERO crimes, because the scumbags committing the crimes don’t follow the law.

It’s never been about crime; it’s always been about removing our collective ability to tell THEM to “GFYselves”.

We will fight this to the end of our days, just as we have been doing since Slick Willie was in office.

PA Reps (GOP, of course) are working on passing a 2nd Amendment Protection bill to nullify federal level attempts to take our rights. We have the House, the Senate, and the Governor house.

We’ll see.

RE :"Just curious...How do they “strengthen” a background check"

From what they say there is a loophole in the background checks law that exempts large numbers of guns being sold at time. Up till recently the NRA said they supported them because it makes little sense to allow legal gun sales to a convicted drug dealer for example.

RE :”But once again, only “law-abiding” people do things this way. It prevents ZERO crimes, because the scumbags committing the crimes don’t follow the law.”

In the case of background checks to stop sales to already convicted criminals its not a good argument to claim there should be no checks because only law biding people will go through the checks.

'Why have laws if only law biding people will bide by the laws? ' is circular reasoning,

Now if the argument is that some officals use that info in ways tht are illegal then you can add another poison pill that specifies a painful punishment for doing it, like a fine, and money for enforcement./

yep, one of the azzholes on that cnn pep rally said [paraphrased] a "felon can currently walk in and buy a shopping cart full of ammo, which, by the way, is illegal for him to do"...

what part of disconnected 'duh' do these commies live in ??? or should i say their constituents ???

“Is Diane Feinstein Nathan Lane’s evil twin? “

No, but she is the wife of one of the biggest arms importers in the country, Richard Blum, who got a WAIVER from the Clinton administration during the last assault weapon ban to import thousands of Chinese ASSAULT RIFLES. They sold the govt. arms for the Iraq war as well.

I sure wish someone would talk about that!

Details...most of them seem to be ‘missing’. We did months of work on this subject when it happened. Alamo girl, do you have any details left from your work?

There is some on the web, it would take a good investigative journalist with more contacts than I have.

Here’s a bit:
