This isn’t just Obama, although he is one of the worst offenders. We would not be in this situation if a lot of Americans didn’t want a bunch of free stuff paid for by someone else. Americans have been conditioned by 80 years of the Welfare State to believe that they can get all kinds of spending on “education” and “children” and “infrastructure” and helping the “needy” and the “elderly” and having the “rich” pay for it.

The House should pass a budget plan that will balance the budget without raising debt ceiling, send it to the Senate and then sit and do nothing until the Senate acts. Then go to conference. If the government has to shut down, so be it.

So where is the approved budget that outlines the agreed upon spending?

There is a difference between reconciliation bills and credit limit Obama’s statement also indicates he sees spending and borrowing as the same thing. That means he thinks 100% spending is borrowed. That is an inteesting statement by itself.
