We would like to thank all of our customers for your support. Currently we have approximately two years of backorders for rifles, upper halves, and lower receivers. Due to this overwhelming demand most of our office staff have temporarily been pulled from their normal positions to pack and ship orders. This will allow us to get our products into your hands as fast as possible before any potential governmental restriction. Orders will be processed in the order they were received. Our normal billing policies will be in effect and your payment will be processed (your order will be charged) just prior to the start of manufacturing, which is approximately two weeks before the order ships. If your payment method is declined, our billing department will contact you by e-mail. Please use the contact forms at the proper links below to contact us.
At this time we are temporarily:
Suspending accepting new orders except for certain parts and accessories placed on our webstore. Suspending accepting new dealers. Unable to provide lead times or order status. We are working 24/7 to pack and ship orders. Unable to expedite or add items to orders. Two year back order on the AR-15.
Who are you going to believe? The politicians? Or your own lying eyes?
A people warned is a people armed.
And Magpul has 1,000,000+ backordered magazines.
http://cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr/panic-one-million-ar-15-magazines-backorder
Wow!
The more stories like these, the more scared the hoplophobic politicians will get.
A win-win!
This whole AR panic buying is interesting to me.
I remember when the assault weapon ban passed, the prices went up but hardly anyone was buying.
I saw someone pay $55 EACH for Magpul mags.
Ah, the beauty of the free market system.
The gun builder sites seem to have backorders till the Fall.
Sounds like the supply is already exhausted—gun control, can’t get ‘em
It’s inefficient to pull office staff to pack boxes. They need to start adding hires. This will be good for the company, and good for the President, since it will improve his job numbers and GDP.
I’d like to see the financials of all those union, public pensions and even Obama’s stock portfolio and how much they have in publicly traded arms and ammunition manufacturing stocks.
Saw a fluted stainless barrel target model (don’t know what brand) on my dealer’s shelf Sat. $1.500.
I got in early and was just told that my stag modl 8 is six months away.
When that original ban hit, I had a bunch of brand new S&W 9mm mags for the various high capacity S&W pistols. Those mags were really valuable as they would fit a bunch of guns including the Daewoo, the Marlin camp carbine, and the Star model 30 etc.
I was in grad school at the time and tried to sell them at a reasonable price. I can recall going to gun shows and seeing dealers charging $100 for their various high capacity mags who would not give me $30 for mine. $30 was actually a couple of dollars less than they had retailed for before the ban.
There were a lot of dealers who would not deal unless they could absolutely skin you.
I actually still have those mags, never was able to sell them. I did trade one dealer even for a Browning Hi-Power mag. He was actually not even a dealer, just a guy who had a table.
I’ve got some 10 Round Magazines ordered through Stag. Oh the joy of living in the “restricted” State of Commieforny.
Hopefully they will show up before the shooting starts./S
I have Magazine envy of all my FReeper buddies currently living in the FREE States.
By "President" I assume you are referring to the Marxist, Muslim, Kenyan usurper in the White Hut. 0bama doesn't care about job numbers or the GDP. His goal is to destroy this country.
Just for the hell of it I did an inventory of my AR mags.
55 of the USGI green follower, all of Colt manufacture. It’s really good having friends in the right places.
I’m not sure I’d want to buy a gun manufactured within the next six months. I’d be afraid the manufacturers would be striving for volume over quality.
I just canceled a LARGE order of 30 & 40 rnd mags from Bushmaster, placed Christmas Eve. They still cant give any ship or delivery dates, and if the hi-cap ban hits, itll be worthless anyway. I have plenty on-hand, from summer and fall shipments, pre-hysteria.
Last night, I ordered an add’l 10 x 10-rnd mags for my .50cal Beowulf, from Alexander Arms Co, and they’re shipping in 5 days.
If the lib-tards get any part of this ban thru, the whole camel’s inside the tent.
I have had a Stag Model 8 for a year now. You will love yours. Assuming you get it before the SHTF.
The nice thing about the AR is that it is easy to change out any part. So although that is a possibility, it really is a non-issue.
So someone direct me, where would I go for my semi-auto rifle so that I may protect and defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestice?
Keep in mind, I’m a lowly school teacher with all the buying power of a chihuahua right now...(but I still want to be able to tell an intruder, “Drop the chilupa!”
So I wonder what a Bushmaster AR-15 new in box goes for these days. Just wondering.
Just look at the journal gun map and rob one.

If you can find one... 1500 to 1800 dollars. IF you can find one on the shelf.

I assume marketing, sales and R&D are superfluous. New staff wouldn’t be effective in the next 90-180 days. If there was a war they could afford to take a temporary productivity hit. I’d be willing to guess some serious bonus $$$ are in the mix.
I saw more than one last weekend for $2,300 but that was Sat. I doubt they were still there Sunday.
Oh, I can find one, trust me. It was a value question.
Might want to start with a handgun or shotgun.
I would not say that an AR-15, for example, is the ideal weapon for home defense. You’ll want training with any weapon you get, range time, and how to strip and clean it.
AR-15’s have a fairly involved field strip process, ammo is not easy to come by right now, and neither are the rifles for that matter. Also, none of it is cheap at this time.
Also, rifles have the ability to pierce walls when fired.
My two choice weapons for home defense are my Sprinfield Arms XD .40 cal pistol and my Remington 870 tactical shotgun. Both cost 500$ each for the base weapon.
Re: AR-15s have a fairly involved field strip process,
Really?

You may where you are but here in the South... they sell as they are taken off the UPS truck.

I know a long hauler who stops at gun shops across the country - from Cabella’s to Walmart - Wipe out
He was at a Cabella’s yesterday in Utah - Store not that busy EXCEPT the guns/ammo section. Said it looked like a blue light special at Wlmart.
There was a holding area where people who had purchased a weapon and now waiting for background check - all seats full and packed with standing...and a line a couple dozen long who had chosen their weapon and in line to pay - Walls and cases almost bare.
He sees this from west to east, north to south.
There seems to be a hitch in the gun grabbers plans in America. In 1935 in Germany, for example, the German people didn't have a past example of what would happen once you registered your guns ;for the public safety.”
Nor the Russians.
WE have those examples to remember what steps follow.
So what they have accomplished is to set off the most accelerated purchase of guns, I beleive, in our history. Many hundreds of thousands have added to their weapons and many hundreds of thousands of people who have never owned a gun, or thought too, are now scrambling to get weapons and taking gun safety courses.
The wannabe Despots have kicked over a hornets nest - a very BIG hornet's nest.
It started right after the first election and has picked up steam each year - then exploded after Nov 2012...and exploded again the minute the Narcissist in chief and his gang came out, on the VERY DAY of the Conn. shooting, screaming “We're coming for your guns!”
I think the depth of the reaction has shook their confidence. the easy take over they had dancing in heir heads like sugar plum fairies has vaporized.
they may have the bigger, badder weapons - but the shear number of armed citizens across this land - and their seeming determination to fight - may not have been factored into their scenario. After all, most of us, after some fuss and flurry, meekly went out and bought the little mercury
screw you light bulbs. that trial balloon for ruling the meek masses was successful.
The they upped the ante with the TSA molesters. Yes, the public really got vocal on that one - but they finally settled down and accepted it.
But this ain't looking so good. It's looking like we may not just meekly hand in our weapons. With the world watching, they have to be calculating just how far they can go. This is a VERY BIG COUNTRY - with a gun - or two or three - "behind every blade of grass."
Add to that, bottom line: They are cowards when stood up against.
Problem there is - it's the MANUFACTURERS that are backed up!
They can't make them fast enough - Some are backed up now up to 2 YEARS.
the Chi-town gang in DC are getting a lesson in 'unintended consequences"
I'm thinking their bravado has a slow leak =
Hm, wanna go into manufacturing?
Your post gives me hope. Sales numbers give me hope. The Founding Fathers beliefs give me hope.
Very well written post.
ahahah
maybe Freepers should band together: “Free Republic Arms”
After the ban sunsetted, I decided I was not going to be caught short of high capacity mags again and especially not for my Browning Hi-Powers which are the last guns I would ever give up.
About once a month for nearly a year CDNN would have specials on various magazines. I ended up getting maybe a dozen Mec-Gar 15 and 20 round mags for the HiPower and also about the same for Argentine military 15 round with a 2 round extension which you could add your self. Before the ban I bought a 30 round mag with no name on it but it appeared high quality which shooting it has confirmed. Also a mag dealer told me it was no ordinary USA or other el cheapo brand. He thought it might have come from Argentina.
They all work perfectly except for two problems. The Argentine mags have such a strong spring that cannot fully load them with out a tool and that might be why they included the tool with the order.
The other problem was two USA brand mags I bought before the ban. They were cheap and should have been cheaper. One jammed regularly and is now pounded into flat sheet metal. The other one works but I don’t have confidence in it.
I also have a few FN made 13 round factory original mags. None of them have the little spring protruding in front near the bottom of the mag to shoot the mag out fast rather than just dump free.
Yes.
There are more steps for the AR then there are steps for my .40 cal pistol.
I found the Ruger sr-22 to be the most frustrating field strip of the guns I have.
