The hot new video at MRCTV.org is 1995 footage of Attorney General Eric Holder, when he was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. In his remarks before the Woman’s National Democratic Club, broadcast by CSPAN 2, Holder said people should be ashamed to own guns, just the way that cigarette smokes now “cower outside of buildings” to smoke.

“What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we’ve changed our attitudes about cigarettes. You know, when I was growing up, people smoked all the time. Both my parents did. But over time, we changed the way that people thought about smoking, so now we have people who cower outside of buildings and kind of smoke in private and don’t want to admit it.” Laughter followed.

Department of Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler has not responded to questions from The Daily Caller about whether Holder himself was armed — and if so, with what sort of weapon. Holder was then among the leaders of the Student Afro-American Society (SAAS), which demanded that the former ROTC office be renamed the “Malcolm X Lounge.” The change, the group insisted, was to be made “in honor of a man who recognized the importance of territory as a basis for nationhood.” Black radicals from the same group also occupied the office of Dean of Freshman Henry Coleman until their demands were met. At my very Conservative and traditional church of Christ congregation, most of us don't drink alcoholic beverages -- a holdover from the days of the Stone-Campbell Reformation movement. A good number of us though are smokers and because we're not at all into political correctness, our kitchen area has plenty of ashtrays for those who enjoy a cigarette or two.

And, as I've mentioned in several other threads, there are quite a few of us who carry our weapons to worship, including the preacher. He'd probably be about as welcome as Satan, but if Eric Holder were to come by for services, we'd be able to teach him a thing or two about liberty and real Christianity. Heck, if he were to truly repent and be baptized, even someone as vile as Holder would be treated as brother in Christ. And we might even light up a cigarette together! :-)
