I have to hand it to the libtards at CNN for their excellent analysis on this one ... it is indeed a big pair of pants to fill ... but with all his superb military and foreign policy experience ... and with all of lovey's deep personal financial resources ... Lurch would indeed be the perfect choice to help finish the job that the Royal Idiot and the World's Smartest Woman have begun!

At least we get him out of the senate, and with Marxist Val Jarrett and Islamist Huma Abdeen running foreign policy, he will have nothing to do.

I’d want to see his original discharge before it was upgraded under Carter first.

That is Exactly what we need right now ~ “swift boat” diplomacy !
Incidently , has he paid his Masachusettes taxes on the sailboat that he has hidden in Rhode Island , or is that Theresa’s job ? Has the Massachusettes tax been paid yet ?
Enroute to becomming a bannana Republic , it is only fitting that ‘hero ‘ John Kerry lead us there !!

John Kerry couldn’t even fill Hilary’s thong !

Curious that "a renaissance person with a tremendous range of skill, both political and substantive, with a deep reservoir of knowledge" would be second choice for Secretary of State to a disgraced liar.

(Art.) Kerry himself is a highly respected figure on the world stage.

Yeah, as the senior KGB asset in the U.S. Senate after Ted Kennedy's demise, he brings all kind of cred to the table.

You morons. You think 40 years as a dope-smoking mouthpiece for Hanoi Hannah is "foreign policy experience" in any sense meaningful to the American people?

These guys are totally inbred and useless.

Without looking, I knew that this fawning article about “Hillary!” was written by a female journalist. (Or in this case, two). Why is that?

I join all FReepers in applauding this choice for Secretary of State.

Senator Kerry has "hands on" experience and served in combat.. some of you may not know that Kerry served in Viet Nam.

As a service member he lived the life of a little person during those months.. he remembers what it's like to be one of us.

He also has spoken about the good and the bad America. I found sources for the latter but I am still looking for a source for the former.

Here's what Senator Kerry (as a young Naval officer) reported to the American people upon return from his service in Viet Nam.

It is not pretty but it proves that he will get the essential respect and approval that a Sec. of State needs from countries who all believe that America sucks.

There were American "war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command.

"It is impossible to describe to you exactly . . . the absolute horror of what this country, in a sense, made [our servicemen] do.

"[Servicemen said] they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, tape wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and [tied] dogs [to the tops of vehicles] for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."

I mentioned Kerry's military experience above.. even more outstanding is his diplomatic initiatives.

Though only a young Naval officer in the reserves he established his own Paris Peace talks with the Viet Minh demonstrating his ability to work with other countries for a common solution.

From this we can expect matters vis-a-vis Iran, North Korea.. the whole lot of them.. to be cleared up forthwith.

"Anybody who follows Clinton would have some pretty big shoes to fill. Clinton was not just the most popular member of the president's Cabinet for the past four years, she had celebrity status and respect almost everywhere she went around the world.."

Popularity and celebrity - no other qualications are relevant for the job. In the world of progressive government, packaging trumps substance every time.

I think Kerry will be an excellent choice. After all, he’s been to Vietnam and has the hat to prove it! It’s a magic hat, doncha know.
