This is a huge mistake. They need American troops to operate these batteries and my sense is they have nothing to do with Syria. The next question is, would they shoot down Israeli hardware?
The Turks have a decent relationship with Isreal.
I think there is another game going on.
I agree that we should NOT put these troops in Turkey. But we have to remember that Turkey is a member of NATO and the Patriots missiles are a defensive weapon.
