Pennsylvania will not set up its own health care exchange under the federal Affordable Care Act at least not for now, Gov. Tom Corbett said Wednesday.
Setting up a state-based exchange would be irresponsible, Corbett said as he faulted federal authorities for what he said were inadequate answers to his questions about cost and other issues.
"Health care reform is too important to be achieved through haphazard planning," said the Republican governor. "Pennsylvania taxpayers and businesses deserve more. They deserve informed decision making and a strong plan that responsibly uses taxpayer dollars."

Oh, we’re told constantly by the left that the “blue states” fund the “red states” through the gov’t,
so I’m sure they won’t mind letting the “dead weight” go.
God Bless you! I thought it was very appropriate.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Blessings, bobo
No wonder I couldn't find it.
WV announced yesterday that they would not join either. I was somewhat surprised since we have a dem Gov, although most dems in the state try to maintain a great deal of distance from themselves and our Dear Leader.
*wry_grin*
Good for the Pennsylvania Governor!! Since Pennsylvania went 0bama he is a bellwether. Other governors are paying attention and a few will refuse state run exchanges because of him
Now get the firearm reciprocity law signed in Pennsylvania.
Sorry ,I meant preemption law!
“What else is he going to do....”
I expect the jerk to find ways of withholding federal money from these states. It’s about control and getting even with him. He will find some way of making it difficult for those that don’t worship him.
I have met Tom Corbett and he is no wuss. This is a man on a mission to reform this state.
We will see privatization of the PLCB and we may even see proportional distribution of electors!
Wahsington State may end up rejecting the exchanges too. We had quite a shake-up in our Senate yesterday.
Hurrah! Is that Tomblin's decision, or the Legislature?
Our standing Army is not bumbling. It is just tiny compared to the US population....
Well, that < expurgated > jerk (who probably didn't get a chance to see what I really think of him) called them "bumbling". I seriously doubt that Mr. < expurgated > has any clue how good our professional military really is, and would probably < expurgated > his pants if he ever found out. That's assuming the < expurgated > poltroon actually wears pants (which I doubt).
It is just tiny compared to the US population....
This is true ... and the civilian population contains a great many veterans, and a great many avid shooters.
I believe our Arizona Governor said a few weeks ago that the state will NOT be setting up a state exchange. So, color us green.
