I watched the show and I think this is not what she was trying to say. Of course, the gas bag Hannity wouldn’t let her get a word in edge-wise. What is it with Hannity and Cavuto? They ask a question, and almost immediately interrupt the person attempting to answer. But I digress...

What I think Coulter was trying to say (and I could be wrong since she was never able to complete a sentence) is that Republicans should let the Democrats raise taxes and have the resulting slump all on them. I don’t think it’s a bad strategy.

I have yet another thought on how we can fix this. Why don't we let the Democrats pass whatever they want? If they are the party of higher taxes, all the Republicans vote present and let the Democrats raise taxes as high as they want to raise them, let Democrats in the Senate raise taxes, let the president sign it and then make them own the tax increase. And when the economy stalls, when the economy sputters, when people lose their jobs, they know which party to blame, the party of high taxes. Let's don't be the party of just almost as high taxes.

This sounds clever; kind of like one team in a tug-of-war letting go of the rope to avoid a certain loss in order to make the other team look foolish.

The end result is the same, though. The other team wins.

I'm not sure that ensuring economic collapse (hurting America) is worth a little moral victory over the socialists.

And, I'm not at all sure that the media would allow the low information voters to think that the Democrats "owned" the bad economy.
