Have they even considered whether the opposition will be better for the United States, for Israel, or even for the Syrian people than the current government? I didn’t think so. I hope they are as accommodating of the Tea Party’s battle against socialism in America as they are of other opposition groups.
Obama is leading from behind here once again....donza know.
I’m not fan of Assad, but that is the key question. What would come after him? Given Obama’s MO, wouldn’t be surprised to see a future Syria embrace Sharia law and cozy up to Iran & Hezbollah even closer than Assad did.
No. We must at all costs have worldwide democracy!... later to be sold out to UN bureaucratic totalitarianism. This is the only ‘fair’ position we can take, to encourage a globalist society.
The resistance fighters in Syria have clearly been infiltrated by Al-Queda and the Muslim Brotherhood (same thing). Support for them is support for a new Islamic theocracy with the ultimate goal of destroying Israel and creating a new Islamic caliphate.
What has Assad ever done to us? Sure, he’s a dictator, and occasionally, he has sponsored terrorism from Iran and North Korea, but everyone knows he’s just a narcissistic suit. Like Gaddafi, his only concern is his own power. He’s not comparable to the psychopaths in Iran. We can deal with this guy. In fact, Assad has kept relations with Israel reasonably cordial from what I can tell. We don’t hear Assad yelling “bathe the land in the blood of the Jews!” very often, which to Ahmedinijad is called ‘Wednesday’. The Israelis clearly prefer Assad to a Muslim Brotherhood led Syria.
We should stay out of this war, and let it run its course. In the end, we’d only be setting up a new dictatorship which would be even more hostile.
They most certainly have studied it quite thoroughly! Otherwise, they would not be moving to support them. Clearly, they've determined that they *will* be worse for the US/Israel/Syrian-people, and thus worthy of Øbama's full support (and taxpayer dollars).
