Jeb Bush in 2016? Not Too Early for Chatter
New York Times ^ | Nov 25 2012 | JIM RUTENBERG and JEFF ZELENY

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Now that the Obama and Romney campaigns have closed their headquarters in Chicago and Boston, the attention of the political world is shifting to an office suite tucked behind the colonnades of the Biltmore Hotel complex here.

The suite is where former Gov. Jeb Bush manages his consulting business, his education foundation and, now, the (very) early decision-making process for a possible presidential run in 2016.

I am just sick and tired of hyphenated Americans; if they are not American citizens first last and always, they should go back to their ancestral home, or country of origin and stay in their 3rd world sh!tholes.

Jeb Stuart has a better chance of being the Republican nominee in 2016 than Jeb Bush.

For 12 years the media has relentlessly sold the message that George W. Bush is a horrible person and was a horrible President, and Obama has done little else for four years but to blame every problem on Bush (while giving him no credit for his making possible Obama's one success, killing Bin Laden). The next four years will be more of the same. By 2016 instead of 53% of the public blaming GWB for the bad economy, it will be 60%. If the economy shows any improvement, then it will be credited to Obama. No one named Bush will have a chance in 2016. Well, maybe Reggie Bush.

Since we had to deal with a weeks worth of nasty threads telling us that Palin and the tea party gave us Akin, some of us had to look it up.
It turns out that Palin and the tea party supported Steelman, Akin was the choice of Bachmann, she made a bad choice.

Bachmann had to spend 20 million dollars to barely hang on the her CONGRESSIONAL seat against someone who spent a 10th of that, that is not good.

Bachmann destroyed herself when she dredged up Rollins, the first thing they did was to attack Palin, and whoosh, there went Bachmann’s credibility, and her relationship with the conservative/Palin base.

Exposing a document fraud is sure different than moving national public opinion, to make winners or losers of national politicians.

Even hundreds of millions of dollars of advertising science, and 7 years of campaigning couldn’t change public perception of Mitt Romney, posting here at FR didn’t ruin the weirdo from Massachusetts.

No it didn’t. And the facts are not even that Mitt had a smaller base; Mitt pumped it less well than the Rats pumped their own base.

Exposing a document fraud is sure different than moving national public opinion, to make winners or losers of national politicians.

I was answering the point that "You have a greatly inflated idea of what Freepers can do."

And millions including libs lurk at FR. If you don't believe it, go to DU and search for "Freerepublic" or "freepers", or Google "freerepublic racist".

Even hundreds of millions of dollars of advertising science, and 7 years of campaigning couldn’t change public perception of Mitt Romney, posting here at FR didn’t ruin the weirdo from Massachusetts.

I never said it did, just the opposite, I said that Romney was the only one left standing after we trashed the Conservative choices that we weren't supporting.

Since we had to deal with a weeks worth of nasty threads telling us that Palin and the tea party gave us Akin, some of us had to look it up. It turns out that Palin and the tea party supported Steelman, Akin was the choice of Bachmann, she made a bad choice.

Yes, I remember that, but endorsing a candidate isn't the same thing as giving us that candidate. Remember, it was the voters who chose Akin, and they are who made a bad choice.

I also remember the Freepers who insisted we should stand behind him. Although I would have been more than happy to eat crow on November 7, I was among those who thought he should get out.

Bachmann had to spend 20 million dollars to barely hang on the her CONGRESSIONAL seat against someone who spent a 10th of that, that is not good.

You keep repeating that, but that money couldn't wipe away her previous gaffes, and it would have exposed her gaffes to more people if she hadn't reigned that in. She still had to wage a comptetent campaign with that money.

Bachmann destroyed herself when she dredged up Rollins, the first thing they did was to attack Palin, and whoosh, there went Bachmann’s credibility, and her relationship with the conservative/Palin base.

Her Elvis gaffe or her account of someone who told her that Cardasil caused brain damage had nothing to do with it?

So far TwelveOfTwenty hasn't made any real challenge to your correct statement.

It's very popular right now to blame some freepers for the GOP liberal losing.

I didn't vote for the liberal(R). It's my fault. Obviously. Even though I'm a conservative, and not a Republican.

My point remains that FR didn't cost anyone any election.

JRandomFreeper hasn't explicitly made that point in his previous posts to me, which might explain why I didn't challenge it ansel12. JRandomFreeper did say "You have a greatly inflated idea of what Freepers can do. We are as a passing of cabbage wind in a tornado, in the large scheme of things." I challenged that by referring to "Rathergate". 2000 (remember "Sore-Loserman"?) and 2010 are also years where FR was influential. At least, that sounds pretty influential to me.

These were positive influences that every Freeper remembers, but the idea that negative posts can result in negative influences doesn't seem to register. Fine, ask and you shall receive.

Hate Speech Against Malia Obama On Conservative Blogs
New England Patriots Forums - PatsFans.com Patriots Fan Messageboard (Free Republic mentioned)
Commissioner Sends Racist Email Using Official Account (Free Republic mentioned)
Jazz Bulletin Board (yup, Free Republic mentioned)

As should be clear above, what's posted at Free Republic doesn't stay at Free Republic, but goes far and wide. The thread was pulled, but not before everyone above and more saw it. I would expect you to come back with some comment that the left calls anyone who opposes Obama a racist (and you're right), but what was posted above goes way beyond opposition.

I don't believe Free Republic in itself is a racist web site, but I've seen the cracks about Michelle Obama being compared to a monkey. Like it or not, that has roots in our countriy's racist past, and that's how it will be taken by outsiders. When we go posting crap like that while supporting Conservative candidates, guess what gets reflected on our Conservative candidates.

I'll probably be banned for posting all of this, but if Freepers get the message that what they post can hurt our cause, it would be worth it.

It's very popular right now to blame some freepers for the GOP liberal losing.

I haven't seen this since the election. I would think most would realize that the third party votes wouldn't have been enough to beat Obama if they had gone to Romney.

I didn't vote for the liberal(R). It's my fault. Obviously. Even though I'm a conservative, and not a Republican.

Well, given that our next President would have been either Obama or Romney, any vote that Romney didn't get would be one less vote that Obama needed to win that state, but the fact is that the third party candidates didn't take enough votes from Romney to make a difference. So no, it wasn't your fault.

If you think that freerepublic is hurting your rinos and being racist, then you need to ping the owner.

I was tempted to take a dig at you for misunderstanding my comments about the "rino", but your suggestion is actually pretty good. Maybe we should all be watching each other's posts for comments that could be used against Conservatives. I sure wouldn't want to be responsible for hurting our cause by committing an Akin-Mourdock.

A suggestion that you didn’t take, don’t tell me your plans for FR, tell the owner, by the way, the giant catastrophe of 2012 was committing a Romney.

The GOP needs to learn that a weak enough rino can lose a presidential race, even against the second Jimmy Carter and when we are on the verge of a depression.

I'll let you know when I acknowledge your authority to place limits on my freedom of speech. Until then, if you don't like what I have to say, don't reply to my posts.

, tell the owner,

Too late, that thread has long since been pulled.

by the way, the giant catastrophe of 2012 was committing a Romney. The GOP needs to learn that a weak enough rino can lose a presidential race, even against the second Jimmy Carter and when we are on the verge of a depression.

And who was our option? Palin didn't run, Bachmann and Cain self-destructed, Newt had a woman problem, and the others were non-factors. You're big on personal attacks but small on solutions.

I have one. The GOP should close its primaries as much as possible, to prevent Dems from pulling an "Operation Chaos" on us and choosing our candidate. What's yours?
