This is a waste of time. Everybody with sense already boycotts them.
I ALWAYS stay away from the ‘mall’ and other places which ‘sully’ my Christmas experience.
A certain amount of commercialism has to be expected. However, I PERSONALLY take control of how much affects me directly... I mean that!
I won’t watch commercials that are forced onto my notice from Nov. 1 and onward. On the radio, I won’t listen to commercials or Christmas music before Nov. 26!
I keep toatlly AWAY from places that overwhelm shoppers with premature and crass promotion for the Christmas holiday.
This relentless assault on your senses is too much and ruins the Christmas feeling if you let it take over your life, beginning on the first of November!
I have it down pat now... the more that retailers strive for my attention, the more I keep myself and my money to myself! The more they insult my sensibilities, the more I keep Christmas as a personal experience. It DOES work!
Shop local. There are plenty of small shops that have far more meaningful stuff, and the money stays in your town.
The only part of Black Friday I like are the videos on YouTube of Obama voters behaving like animals over a DVD player.
God bless capitolism! I don’t let what stores do affect me on a personal level but I wish them success and continued profits.
I saw a news report on people in line on Monday for the Black Friday sales to be first in the store. Their family will drop off the Thanksgiving dinner while they wait in line. Totally wrong set of priorities.
At a nearby Best Buy, there were people in line last Saturday. Idiotic. Of course, the reporter plays up the hard luck angle, guy lost his job, five kids, blah, blah, blah. What she never asked him though, was why the hell he wasn't out knocking on doors to see if he could rake leaves and clean out gutters? Between Saturday and Wednesday, he could earn enough money to buy a better computer.
Sick of Lincoln and the other top-down politicians telling me what to do on holidays. Screw him. I’m spending money and buying gifts.
She wanted to be first in line because last year, she waited too long to get in line and ended up being #17 in line. When the BB opened, the store had only 15 flat screen tvs, which is what she was in the market for.

...you must have a “Buy Fresh Buy Local sticker on your car. Why would I pay more to help a “local”? Plenty of “locals” work at Target and WalMart. Put one of them out of business in any town and watch unemployment sky rocket. If a business, any business, is located within a town, it IS local.
Amen brother, amen. The thinking seems to be that smaller “mom and pop” shops are somehow superior. Hey man, we should all pay triple for hammers and light bulbs so that these two people (mom and pop) can make a decent living. It’s upside-down thinking. It’s kind of akin to union thinking. Yes, everyone in the nation has to spend upwards of $30,000 for a new car, but a handful of guys make a good salary and have great pensions. Idiotic.

Of course I’m not participating in Black Thursday/Friday. I haven’t for years (double digit years). DEFUNDING this economic mess is easier than ever this year.

I’ve long thought that the Thanksgiving to Christmas holiday season is the best time of the year to reconnect with family, friends and neighbors, through the wonderful medium of food. Children need to learn how to cook.
Since so many people have varied diets these days, along with a gift tag for plates of cookies and other goodies, I include an ingredients list, which folks appreciate.

If unions are against it then I’m for it. Never been to black friday but I’ll be at Cabela’s at 4 am friday.
Who needs all the latest bells and whistles especially in today's economy? A new tv shows the same programs as the old tv. We have two old tvs that were going to be thrown out because someone just had to buy new big flat screens. I've never understood how people can throw away money like that.
Camping outside BB for two weeks is also mind boggling. If that woman had worked for a week, she'd have made enough to buy a much larger tv and home watching the parade on Thanksgiving morning rather than freezing in the parking lot. But "work" is a four letter word for too many.
Um no.
I just happen to live by people that happen to own many of the small shops in my neighborhood trying to eek out a living, so I choose to help them.
